This table is amazing. I am a 72 year old Widow with a hip problem. I ASSEMBLED the table and chair myself, ALL by myself. Was it difficult? Not really. It took me 4 hours from start to finish. I think that is a great record! I assembled the chairs first. That was a little tricky until I figured out how to hold everything up with my easy chair and pillows. I "thought" I was short 2 crucial bolts and lock things. But I didn't worry about it at the time cause I needed to assemble the table. Low and behold the hardware was there, just loose in the box! Thank goodness. The table was easy to assemble, maybe that's why instructions sorta suggested the table first. Anyway, one of the hardest things to figure out was the removal of black straps that were securely stabled to the underneath part of the table. Once I figured it out, it's easy. Get a pair of vice grips if you have them, otherwise a pair of pliers will do nicely, that's what I used. Vice grips might have made it easier. Anyway, grip both straps with the pliers and start twisting around and around. Eventually the staple will come out. One staple broke but I was able to gently tap the end into the underneath of the table. The table is very secure, doesn't shake. The chairs are also stable, however the chairs are a little short, even for me. I hope to find the things you put on the bottom of chairs to make them scoot easier, thus raising the chair at least 1/2". All in all, for the price, I love this table! So far NO Complaints on the quality. The packing was fantastic, well padded. Not marks, scratches, no dents, only nice looking wood. Oh, I figured out why the chairs appear to be short. You can have the leaf down and eat without the leaf being in your way. I love it! By the way, the chair seat is approx 18" from the floor to the top of the seat.

Love the set, table is perfect size for my apartment, nicely finished, sturdy, chairs are good once you get use to them they are not uncomfortable best way to describe is stiff I find them fine now. I really like it.

Bought this 11 years ago with the 2 chairs for my small senior apartment kitchen. Fits nicely. I am 5'6" and weigh 185 lbs. (just under "morbidly obese). You can say what you'd like about the chairs not being ideally comfortable, but I've been perfectly satisfied with them. Both the table and 2 chairs have have lasted me for 11 years with nothing breaking down, staining, or coming loose. Still seems just as nice as when I bought it. Eleven years ago, I paid $131.96 for it. It now looks like you'll pay more like $207. But I'd say probably worth it for the real light oak, attractiveness, and last-ability.

This is a nice set for the $. The delivery was delayed a while due it shipping from the East coast, but it arrived unscathed, Assembly was not that difficult took about 1.5 hours. I used the tools provided and the packaging was only missing 1 lock washer for a table leg, which didn't seem to affect the stability. The hardware is in 2 separate packages (1 for chairs, 1 for table), which was nice. The leaf areas are somewhat higher than the rest of the table (using a level) but is not noticeable by eye. They might become more level with use. The leaves are low-tech (just 2 pieces of wood you slide in and out on each leaf.) I recommend hand-tightening until all the pieces are in place and then using the wrenches. For those worried about the stability of the chairs, I am 5'11 185 and they seem pretty sturdy to me so far. If you are still concerned, I would maybe use a glue gun on the connections along with the bolts; the wood itself is pretty strong. With the leaves down, I cannot sit straight as my knees would hit, but I don't plan on having the leaves down much. Overall I'm happy with this functional, nice looking, space filler-upper.

The chairs are a pain to assemble with one person. It’s a learning curve but I did it. Orverall the set works out well for me as I live in a small space, I am able to kneed bread dough and pastas fresh. It’s fairly solid and under regular wear and tear should last more than a decade

This is a great compact dining set. I got it as a gift for someone with a tiny apartment. They had no table as it was an "eat-in kitchen" style aapartment so no real "dining room. After assembly (easy and under an hour), it was ready to go. ** This set is smaller than average dining sets.** But I knew this from precious reviews, and I was already expecting this. It's compact and that's is exactly what I was looking for. It isn't insanely small, but if you're taller than average, this will be a shock and unplesant. The set was fine for 5'10 type builds and under. The quality was good, no missing pieces no miss drilled holes no missing hardware. The wood all look fine and the seats looked as pictured. In my opinion, for the price and the size, this is a good product I would recommend to someone looking to save space.

This table and chairs are great! I had read previous reviews before purchasing, and a big thing I saw was that it took hours and hour to put together. Not the case for me at all! It took about an hour total and was painless and very easy to follow the directions. The leaves of the table are already assembled, so you're just putting the legs on the table and assembling the chairs! This table works perfectly for my small apartment. The way I have it set up in the corner disallows both chairs to be fully pushed in under the table, but that is not something that bothers me, but something to note if you are particular about that kind of thing. Very nice quality wood! The black straps stapled on the table securing it in the box were really hard to pry off, but honestly, I just cut them short with scissors and left them on the underside of the table because I am never going to be looking under there. Great little table that I highly recommend! I love mine!
