Nice package and charger but after about a month of use, maybe 4 charges, one of the batteries is already not taking a charge. Continues to have a red light on it. Leads me to believe these are cheap Lithium cells. Update 4/12/24 - I contacted Coast and told them about the bad battery. They sent out a whole new pack right away. We already have quite a few NiMH rechargeable AA and AAA batteries. They're comparatively inexpensive and have worked well for the most part. However, there are a handful of devices where NiMH don't work well because they are only 1.2V instead of the normal 1.5V of alkaline AA and AAA batteries. That's were these Coast Li Ion rechargeable batteries come in. Have used these 1.5V Li Ion batteries in some of those more sensitive devices and they've worked perfectly. I have not had an opportunity to evaluate them for capacity yet but, they have held up well so far. The USB-C charging is also a big differentiator vs other 1.5 Li Ion AA/AAA batteries that have micro-USB ports. Just ordered another set of these and will be ordering some of their AA batteries as well. We'll still use NiMH for most things because of the lower per-unit price. But these serve a useful role in cases where either NiMH doesn't work or I don't want a plug-in charger. ... show more

    • Great for your devices that don't play well with traditional rechargeable batteries.

Be warned these will not charge in a regular battery recharger, you must use usb-c to charge them. That said, if you have devices that don't work well with the slightly lower voltage of rechargeable batteries then give these a shot, they have a voltage controller built in to emulate the voltage curve of an alkaline battery for devices that need 1.5v to work well. Another benefit is that if your device has a built in battery life meter it will read properly with these batteries, as they lower their voltage to match the behavior of an alkaline battery, which is to say, if these batteries have 50% charge left, they will output the voltage a normal alkaline battery would with 50% charge left, so your device can show you 50% charge remaining. ... show more

These batteries work very good so far in my items. They can be recharged all 4 at once. They have a red light when charging and green when full. There are 8 in a pack so they should prevent me from needing to buy AAA anytime in the future.

All batteries should have ports because it opens up a world of possibilities for their use case. The only downside is the low mAh. If they made the same product but with 2000 mAh or above this product would move like hotcakes. Really cool colorway as well.

These Coast AAA USB-C Lithium Ion Rechargeable Batteries (8 pack) are very handy for having “an inexhaustible supply” of AAA batteries on hand. With their promise to be rechargeable 1000 times over, it's gonna be a really long time till i ever need to purchase another AAA battery. The eight AAA batteries arrive in two convenient plastic storage cases and they come with one four-way charging cable. (One end of the charging cable plugs into a standard USB-A charging port and the other four ends of that same cable plug into all four batteries at the same time via US type C charging ports on each battery.) The charging cable snaps securely into each battery with a satisfying click. Each battery has a charging indicator on it that glows LED-red when it is in the process of charging and LED-green when it is fully charged. The four batteries - when charging together - suck up a nice amount of current which (in my setup) measured at about 1.35 amps. And when charging four batteries simultaneously, it took right at two hours till fully charged. And after charging them, each of the eight batteries showed a goodly amount of amperage using a standard AAA battery tester (a simplistic “is it good vs is it dead” amperage tester.) My use case? I’m thinking the various things that i have that use AAA batteries like remotes (for TV, PVR etc) various metering devices (like my meter that measures for explosive gasses, multimeters, etc.) I probably won’t be using them in items that i consider “critical use items” like smoke alarms where - if the batteries go dead - i might go dead, too. I mean if a TV remote or a multimeter stop working due to a prematurely dead battery, i keep breathing, right ? So bottom line i think this is an excellent product. And a prospective purchaser needs to figure that the high cost of each battery should be looked at in terms of the promised 1000 times recharge capability. So an eight battery pack that costs $65 could be viewed as 8,000 battery-usages that cost less than one penny each charge. And an effective cost of less than one cent per AAA battery-usage is an incredible bargain. (It would still be an incredible bargain even if they were to last only half as long as a brand-new alkaline battery !) And using rechargeable batteries like these helps Mother Gaia and all the landfills, too, right ? Such a deal ! ... show more
