I've owned this unit for a while and use it a couple of times a week. It was VERY bad at first. With no support from the company and a deadline to meet, I decided to skip the Amazon return process and fix the thing myself. After re-soldering up the bad connection, making adjustments, and more importantly creating a spring loaded wheel to keep the substrate from jarring around etc I finally have a working unit! This thing is a great piece of hardware, but some users might find it frustrating depending on how much tinkering etc you end up having to do. I never was able to get any support from seller however after a while I received a message from the seller offering me a coupon for my troubles... Check the wiring! A+A-B+B- were in the correct order on the connection, but again, I had to take it apart and solder up the faulty connection. I have been running it at 1.60A peak/ 1.13A RMS and the motor has been running very smooth, stable holding power and NO problem turning heavy beer mugs! Speaking of, a large beer mug and this unit will take up around 8". I recommend this for users with a Z depth of at least 8"(200mm).

So far so good. Had to rewire it a bit because my chinese laser y-axis is wired differently (pairs A+ to B- and B+ to A-) but once I swapped the wires it ran perfectly. I will probably change the rubber O-rings on it since they dont feel like they grip well enough, but that will cost almost nothing. Overall it's pretty solidly built for a Chinese rotary and this specific one is cheaper than ones like it that I've seen. Helps that I got a random $30 off coupon for it, not sure why, but I'm not complaining.

I really wanted to love it. It should work perfect but you have to slow everything down to 15-20mmps or else it will fling your tumbler across the laser bed! A little frustrating. Needs a whee clamp at the end.

The one thing they aren't telling you is that whatever you put on it is going to slip, chatter and move, ruining your engraving. these models do not come with a hold down clip to keep the tumbler or cup stable on the rollers. they will move. you have top engrave very slowly in order to prevent it, and even then there is no guarantee. spend a little more (I wish I did) and buy one with a clip installed.
