Description

The Antennas Direct ClearStream MAX-V indoor / outdoor HDTV antenna is powerful, versatile, and uses two of our patented loops to receive TV signals 60+ miles from broadcast towers. Our MAX family of antennas offer the strongest performance in the most compact designs. This customizable antenna requires minimal assembly. Install indoors, in an attic, or outdoors on an existing mast with the included all-weather adjustable mounting hardware or on a wall with the unique low-profile steel wall bracket. Multi-directional UHF and Hi-VHF elements engineered in the USA with a wide 65-degree beam angle offer reliable reception from the front and back of the antenna for more TV channels even if towers are spread out. Ideal for suburban and rural areas where heavy foliage or roofing materials between your antenna and the TV towers can interfere with reception. Coaxial cable and mast sold separately. • Excellent antenna for the price
Style: Max-V
This product was used in San Jose to pickup local channels up to 48 miles away and it performed great. I wanted something that looked small, easy on the eyes, easy to hide with excellent performance and this antenna met my needs. From south San Jose, I was able to get 151 channels with 24 being duplicate. Even KRON4 and KGO that are in Downtown SF 48 miles away. I placed it outside at the same level as my window facing my neighbors 2 story home but this antenna picked up all the channels with clarity. I had also purchased a Wingard LNA 200 AMP but it actually made things worse. Prior to this purchase, I had Antop 800sbs with amplifier which was ugly. Bulky and total waste of money. This antenna really surprised me with its power. ... show more

  • Awsume Antenna
Style: Max-V
I've been looking at cutting the cord with my Cable Company for a while now. But before I decided to do that. I wanted to see what over the air channels I could receive in my area. Most of the Broadcast Towers in my area are directly East or West of me and within 30 miles. So I started out with the Antennas Direct Clearstream 1 Max Indoor/Outdoor antenna. Since it has a 40 mile reception range. I mounted the antenna indoors in a window on the East Side of the house. I got good reception with a pretty decent number of channels. But... depending on atmospheric conditions. I found some Channels broadcast from the North-northeast and just outside the 30 mile range. Would start to break up, or drop out completely. Even with the antenna pointed (as best I could) in that direction. So, I decided to try upgrading to the ClearStream MAX-V. Since it has a 60 Mile reception range and a sightly wider Beam Angle. I mounted it Indoors in the exact same location as the Clearstream 1 Max. Low and behold, the signal strength of all channels I'm able to receive Increased. Including those broadcast from the North-northeast more than 30 miles away. That's regardless of atmospheric conditions. Even during a thunderstorm that rolled through the other night. I was still able to watch programs broadcast on those channels from the North-northeast. With no interference or break up at all. So, at least in my area. The ClearStream MAX-V antenna was definitely worth the additional expense. Since I can now save money. By finally cutting the Cord with my Cable Company. ... show more

  • One person's anecdotal test: Clearstream antenna vs. two Mohu Leaf 30 antennas: channel scan
Style: Max-V
I live in the city at ground level. I currently use two Mohu Leaf 30 (~$39) antennas which feed into a 2-1 combiner/splitter ($6). The Leaf resembles a square piece of flat white cardboard. I have a leaf placed on adjacent panes of glass. Aesthetically pleasing. It is not clear to me if the Mohu Leaf 30 is sold at Amazon anymore; they sell a version at $59 that includes an amplifier. I tried it and was not impressed enough to use it over my dual configuration. Occasionally, my current system intermittently loses the signal. It is typically on windy or rainy/snowy days. So I'm always on the lookout for something better. I bought the Clearstream antenna as it got high reviews. Let's face it: this antenna is not aesthetically pleasing when hung from a window. But the important thing here is its reception; function first, then form, IMO. The Mohu comes with a cable, the Clearstream does not. My TV is an LG 65" OLED, bought a few years ago. Great picture. At any rate, I started the channel autoscan for each antenna configuration. The results (number of channels found): (A) Two Mohu Leaf 30 antennas feeding a 2-1 combiner: 86 channels. (B) Clearstream antenna: 77 channels So there you have it. Your mileage may vary; remember, I am in the city at ground level using indoor antennas. That's probably not the typical situation. PS If I find the energy, I may update the review to include two more data points: (C) a single Mohu 30 Leaf antenna (D) the Mohu Leaf version with builtin amplifier. ... show more

  • Amazing
Style: Max-V
We just moved into a new house and internet was not going to be available for a few weeks. The old house had a different model Clearstream which worked great so I ordered this one to at least get local channels. The old one was located outdoors which I didn't have time to do here so I figured, lets try it pointing out a window. Well actually I laid it on the floor in the direction, Googled GPS co-ordinates, of the local broadcast transmitters. Did the channel search and amazingly picked up every channel I had at the old house. I'm guessing maybe 20 miles from transmitters a little farther than the old house. So now do I put it outside or find a spot inside the house that will conceal the antenna. BTW: I have a Tablo setup which runs through their app so I only have to hook up to the Tablo which connects to my router. My modem and router are in my office, 3rd bedroom, so I put the antenna in the closet and aimed in the same direction and still get all the stations. Absolutely think this is an out standing antenna. You ask why not leave it where it was, wife didn't think an antenna laying on the floor of the great room fit the decor she was trying for, go figure. ... show more

  • Great Antenna
Style: Max-V
The Clear Stream MAX-V Antenna pulled in twice the stations that the ANTOP AT-415B. The Clear Stream is cheaper and better than the Antop that I returned. In the North Buffalo NY area I'm getting 55 quality stations, including Toronto and Erie. Very easy assembly. I mounted it on a 36 inch mast at the peek of my roof (35 feet high). Great reception! ... show more

  • Impressive antenna
Style: Max-V
I initially bought a small indoor antenna, put it in the window of the 2nd floor and got pretty good reception 45 channels but not 2 channels that I wanted. Decided to try the Clearstream thinking I would have to put it in the attic, hole in the ceiling for wires, wire management etc, when it’s arrived, i stuck it on the wall with a command strip hanger in the general (not exact) direction of the towers and bam 65 channels, everything crystal clear, my towers are only 12 miles away but, I’m now getting station’s 60 miles away, both in the direction the antenna is facing and one 60 miles behind the antenna. Yes it’s kind of expensive BUT in the long run much cheaper than cable, I have it connected to a fire tv recast with 3 tvs on fire sticks , I couldn’t be happier and only regret I didn’t cut the cable sooner. ... show more
