If you follow the directions, this product is amazing. I've never used epoxy resin before, but we figured we would try it on our bar top. We sealed any small openings in the wood with painters caulk, then put down a vinyl liner - similar to contact paper that we used to use in kitchen cabinets. After attaching the outer trim and caulking, we randomly placed some special coins all over the bar top. Then - the moment of truth. We mixed about half of the epoxy and began pouring. I would have mixed the entire gallon, but I didn't have a sacrificial container large enough. It flowed nicely and sadly found a couple small holes that I neglected to fill. That's on me, though. While my wife was spreading the epoxy out, I mixed the next batch. We poured the second half of the mixture and it flowed freely just like the first, mixing itself nicely with the first. Then we used a heat gun set on the lowest temperature and slowly and evenly used it to bring any and all air bubbles to the surface. I held it about 6 inches over the surface which seemed to work nicely. Any closer and the fan from the heat gun started to make ripples. Any farther away and I feel the heat would not have been as effective. When we finished, it looked like glass. By the next morning, I carefully touched the outside edge to see if it was cured, and sure enough it was. The next step is putting the arm rest trim all around. My biggest piece of advice is to take your time mixing it. Pot time is roughly 45 minutes, so take a solid 5 minutes to mix it thoroughly and you'll be happy.

I used another type of epoxy to seal my other butcher block counter top. But the stuff was expensive so when I ran out I bought this stuff. I like this epoxy a lot more. It has less of that yellow color. It mixed a lot better but it was warmer. Temperature helps a lot. It helps spread it and warmer temps helps it harden faster too. I did 3 coats for this bar top and I think it turned out great. I first did the seal coat. This seals the wood and keeps bubbles from forming in the next coat. If you don't do a seal coat on wood it looks bad. I learned that the hard way. In between coats you need to sand the first layer of epoxy. Sand out all the bubbles. I use a 120 grit after the seal coat. Then smooth it out with a 220 grit before doing the next coat. With my second coat I was still getting one good size bubble coming out of the wood. So I sanded it down again this time with just the 220 grit. You have to sand it down if you are going to apply more. The epoxy needs someone to grip too. With the 3rd coat I made sure to go over it with my torch to pop all bubbles that happened from mixing and spreading. Then I walked away. Let it self level. I have gotten pretty good at this now. But it took practice. Also getting a little notched spreader helps too. Also the summer time heat helps too. I recommend doing your epoxy projects in the summer time.

I saw a lot of reviews on this about how it doesn't set or it sets too fast or blah blah. They all have no idea what they're doing and it shows. Based on the problems people claimed to had, for the "not setting right" they were not mixing it enough, or they failed to scrape the sides and bottom of the cups. Or they measured the two parts incorrectly. Either way, they just needed to measure and mix it better. For the people that said it sets too fast to get anything done or whatever. This speeds up the more you heat it up. I used a heat gun one of the times I was casting things and it started to set almost twice as fast as normal. I was shocked how much of a difference heat made. Now that I know that though, I can use it to my advantage and speed up the process dramatically by heating it for a while. I think it's a big plus to have the option of fast or slow. Anyways, besides debunking all the claims that this stuff doesn't work right. I also want to say, this stuff is awesome. It barely smells which is great. It's a fairly easy to deal with viscosity. It takes color well. It casts fantastically. It makes crystal clear and rock solid creations. I bet it would be just as good as a doming resin as it is at casting. The price is right, and the product is fantastic. I haven't found anything better than this stuff yet and I've used a good handful of other resins now. This is the best. I recommend it highly.

This is the first time I have used this brand. I have tried several brands in the past. This dries clear and hard, and fast, mixes very easy, takes color great, but when I pour it out to measure it, the hardner has a yellow tint, and is very noticable. I make a lot of clear glass/acrylic art, and this will not work for that. Really disappointed because of the positives. If you plan to add color, its a great resin.

The problem with epoxy is you only get one shot at it! Easy to use. There's 2 bottles & you mix them together. Not hard at all. Fast shipping, nicely packed. I made a quartz rock table, put a light underneath to illuminate it. Turned out exactly as I wanted. Epoxy was super easy to work with. I've bought other companies epoxy that say clear & it isn't as clear as you would want when cured. Make sure to stir thoroughly (3 mins was recommended), bubbles will rise out as you do it. Then don't touch your project for days & it will settle nicely. It did harden after a few hours, but depending on the thickness - you should be patient and allow it to fully cure without being moved. In my case I left it for a week before messing with it. The hamster wheel is turning in my head, already thinking of the next project & will definitely buy from this seller again.

I’m a beginner, so was kind of skeptical. I used graduated measuring cups for the resin and hardener. Used 400ml of each (for a total of 800ml) and poured them into an empty, cleaned plastic container (hardener first then resin as per instructions). Used an old steel fork to stir slowly over 10 min. I then let it sit for 3 min and then poured it slowly. The container felt maybe a tad warm if at all. Did not use pigments. The pour was about 1/2” to max 3/4” thick. The next 4 hours few bubbles kept forming, which I burst using a toothpick. Over the next 13-14 hrs it hardened solid, clear, shiny and devoid of air bubbles. At 24 hrs it was rock solid. The room temperature was about 71-73F. I did not warm the mixture or use a heating lamp. Overall great success and experience, pleased with the product and I’ve already ordered more. Needless to say it is cheaper than their competitors. Patience is paramount with resins for a great result.

This was my first time using this brand of resin. I reached out to the vendor to verify that it is food safe since I am making snack trays. The vendor responded promptly to say that it is FDA approved, so that's a point in their favor. It is easy to mix with fairly few bubbles and not too much smell. However, when I first used it, after curing for 24 hours, the tray was sticky and malleable so I set it aside to wait another day. When the tray was still sticky I assumed I'd done something wrong and decided to try another one. My second attempt was slightly harder, but still sticky. Same thing with my third try. After some research on how to deal with soft, sticky items, I tried baking the trays at 150° one at a time in my sublimation oven. The first round I baked them for 3 hours each, with the result that only one of the three lost its stickiness. So, I baked two of them again, one at a time, again at 150° for 3 hours each. One of these two is less sticky, but both are still malleable as you can see in the attached video. The worst part? Following someone's suggestion that you could sand off any slightly sticky parts and re-pour the resin, I sanded both trays. Because of the slight stick I couldn't just wipe the resulting dust off, so I washed them in warm water. When exposed to the warmth of the water, I was able to bend the thicker one significantly. The thinner one began to droop in my hands. There is no way I would be able to use these trays to deliver hot coffee or food to anyone, which was my goal for when my husband is recovering from back surgery early next year. I'd say these trays could be used as rolling trays or big paperweights, but I'd be afraid that anything you put on them would stick. As much as I wanted to like this product, I can't recommend it, especially if you're making something that needs to cure hard and be heat tolerant.

This was my first epoxy table project. It was a big one at 10' by 2'. This epoxy was very easy to work with, it gave about an hour worth of work time, and in around 10 or 12 hours was pretty dry. It was easy to get the bubbles out and the final flood coat came out perfectly clear. Couple of lessons, which were my fault. The table has to be flat, I had burned mine for affect and that caused the sides to come up some, this epoxy when drying is going to find the flat spot, or I mean its going to self level, but it can't if the what you are pouring it over isn't completely flat. Mix it 1 to 1 and I put the hardner in first and then poured the resin on top, I had mixed with a mixing stick for 3-4 min and you tell when its ready because it goes from cloudy to clear. I am buying more of this brand to use on my next project which is going to be a river pour, once you do one you get the bug to do more projects. Worked great for me!
