My husband and my two sons love this for ice fishing. Very roomy and they stay warm (with the heater) in this. Make sure you anchor it down each time because when that gust of wind comes, it will pick it up. We had the 4 man tent and it was snug for the three of them in there. This shanty is huge! I have 5 in my family, and we will all be able to go fishing together this year. It is well built, easy to put up, and when all closed up, super dark inside. I put it up twice in my yard to practice. The first time took me 5 or 6 minutes. The second time was under 2 minutes by myself. I would recommend watching a video on how to set it up, before trying the first time. Can’t wait for the lake to freeze up now.

Purchased this product to use for ice fishing. This tent is very large. We used a small propane heater for warmth. The temperature was 4°f with 15mph winds. Initially I put the heater on high and it got hot quickly. After 10 minutes I was able to turn the heater to low and I was very glad there were air vents to open to help. This ice tent was exactly what was needed to have a great time on the ice without being uncomfortable. Make sure you use the included ice stakes! They really are necessary.

Stupendous. Wonderful. Tough. WARM. Ordered for a staging "workshop" during winter months to aid in a building remodel. This shelter is perfect! Work table, chair, cooler, small woodstove and room to work. Love the Clam. Update. The Clam was purchased 9.17. Exactly four and a half weeks later? Total Failure. The Clam was erected carefully, all tiedowns and stakes were well secured and it was placed in between two cargo trailers for protection from wind. Last weekend we had a quick snowstorm blow through with total snowfall of 3/4 of an inch. Next day temps rose and melting happened. The Clam folded in on itself like a tent with all poles removed. Upon examination, the central hub failed and all poles broke without support. Unbelievable. A shelter designed for ice fishing? Manufacturer needs to put a warning tag on this shelter. "ONLY FOR USE IN NO SNOW CONDITIONS." You may be interested to know the coleman screenhouse is absolutely fine. It has a taffeta roof about as thick as tissue paper, no slope and no damage whatsoever.
