I’m really impressed with this microscope. It’s a huge improvement from the desktop microscope that you had to use glass slides for and never wanted to set up out of the box because it was more complicated to use. We got it for my 5 year old and the whole family has taken turns enjoying it. It charges quickly and is super easy to use. We love the camera option on it too!

My 4yo has really enjoyed it. Took a little bit for him to understand how to do the magnification part but he got it. And I think it’s fun too! You can get really cool views and can take pics or videos on whatever internal memory. Instructions don’t tell you how to take pics/videos or delete them so that took a little trial and error to figure out. Magnification is good, but if trying to look at a bigger bug, you can’t get it all in the frame. Like it just shows you what’s right in middle and pulling microscope away doesn’t get views as good. Also had a few times we put microscope over live ants and had a hard time getting them in view because they’d run around the edges

We bought these 1000x microscopes for our grandchildren for Christmas. They really enjoyed them right out of the box. The image quality is amazing. You can use it for slides or for viewing objects directly. Easy to use and durable. The value for the price is very good as it stimulates creativity and exploration. Overall nice and easy to use. Image stabilization is great for kid use. Focus is smooth. Screen brightness and LEDs are great for indoor use. Have not used in direct sunlight yet. I found out there is an undocumented trick to change between micro and macro mode. There are two different focus planes for close up viewing. If you twist the focus wheel all the way to one side and then back a little to get into focus, it has an standard zoom level of 8.5x with two digital zoom levels to get it to 14x max. If you twist the focus wheel all the way to the other side and back a little to get into focus, you end up with a standard zoom of 44x. The closest digital zoom level increases it to 74x. It can be connected to a computer, so I suppose you could get to 1000x zoom if connected to a 32” monitor. On a standard 24” monitor, zoom would be 740x. This is likely the same as all the other toy microscopes that are claiming 1000x zoom. The digital zoom ratio is less than two. The optical zoom ratio is close to 5. The bottom protector was easy for my kid to install but not possible to remove. It probably would work well for keeping dust out, but it has slots for the slides to fit in. That said, this is still a great toy. A great zoom level for most ages. This is far easier to use than a standard microscope. It is cool for looking at small weaves in fabric, hairs, bugs, surface textures printed material, tablet screens, plants and many other things.

These are a lot of fun and can be carried around outside to explore the world. It can take pictures if you purchase a separate micro sd card. My grands range from 2-5 and they like them but probably need to be just a bit older to fully enjoy them. They liked the included slides as well

Ok, this is SO COOL! My kids have looked at scabs, at bugs, at leaves, trees, pebbles, their food.. Beware ab letting them examine food though bc it might gross them out - that's how great it is. For the price and size the image can be focused twice for everything, a close up zoom, and a very microscopic view. Battery lasts a long time. And durable after many drops. I actually like using it too.
