When I first got this, I thought it was broken as the glass on the bottom was not on it fully open when I got it and when I powered it on to test it, I could not see anything and it was blurry, but when I pointed it kind of to a light, I did get some image. So then I decided to try my finger and lo and behold as you can see in the first picture there is a black dot in one of them and that is actually a hair follicle on my finger which was super cool. I then decided to test it out on the slides that were in there and and wanted to test the honeybee leg and it was super cool, but I had a hard time adjusting that when I ended up finding out is the glass and this is a hint for anyone that if you put the glass back on the bottom and look on it there is a slide on the bottom of it that you use to slide the slide into and it makes it a lot easier to align up and then you can view the picture which was so cool. I wanted to test it out on my MacBook Pro, but was unable to because I have a USB-C port.

While science was never my interest in life, it is certainly great for kids. It is much more than a mere “toy” also…in that is magnifies very well. My grand-nephew (5 yrs) loves looking at all kinds of bugs and butterflies. It is not too heavy for him to use and is very durable. He is a happy camper using it!

I got this 1000X handheld microscope for my nephew, and he absolutely loves it! The 4K screen is surprisingly clear for a kids’ microscope, and the zoom works great for looking at leaves, coins, fabrics, and the included slides. It’s super easy to use—no complicated setup or cords—and the 2.4" screen makes it fun for kids to explore on their own. I like that this portable microscope provides the option to study the natural world in a variety of settings beyond classrooms and laboratories that traditionally use larger and heavier microscopes. There are multiple settings the LED lights can be adjusted to and the zoom function can magnify close up or long distance objects. It would however be nice if there were more colors available other than blue. The set comes with a 32 Gb card, but the handle of the microscope can be connected to a computer to transfer files if the card is full. I like how light weight the microscope is, the clarity of the digital screen, and that it comes with several pre-made nature slides to inspire ideas for additional observations.
