So, bought this thing during WFH and decided to use it as my near daily commute bike once that ended. At 1700 miles, it has been not that much of an adventure to be honest. By this I mean there havent been all that many issues to note, but heres my experience. Setup is moderately straightforward. Attach front wheel, handlebars, pedals, and fenders. The one thing to note is that little silver bit in place of handlebars that it ships with is important, do not just toss away. On a cold day, you'll get roughly 17-18 miles with a full charge. Without partial pedaling maybe 15 or so. Though this on a flat terrain. My route has about 40 meters difference in hight so, make of that what you will. Battery life hasnt been an issue and I can get to and from work on a single charge. That being said, the lower the battery the less your max speed. At a single bar setting to pas 4 will get you about 11 mph instead of 16-18 mph at full charge. While you can pedal the bike without using battery, unless you are on a flat route this is ill advised due to the 70 pound weight of the bike. Maintenence, has been interesting. I've had a couple flats due to goatheads and have changed out both tubing and have some slime in case. The tires they come with, have lasted me until writing this review. The treads have worn down a bit but its the siding that gave out first. The stock tires are moderately loud, which is to be expected for a knobbed fat tire. The breaks have been a puzzle of sorts. I find myself never using the rear break but the front. Rear just doesnt have that much hold on the bike in comparison. I've also have replaced the front break once so far and cleaned the rear one (process to replace isnt that difficult compared to replacing the tubing and wheel). The only real complaint I have is how the cruise control setting works. Its a bit...tempermental if not on a conscistent speed. That aside, the only things really of annoyance are the usual bike things. General maintenence like cleaning the chain and reapplying some oil, cleaning under fender, and the usual bits like filling air. So, 4.5/5. Would buy again if needed. Edit: Nearly forgot two important bits. One: On the rear wheel, for the gear shift, I ended up needing to reorientate the L bracket so I could properly shift gears. Once the lever was able to actually move it was just a matter of adjusting tension so the gear shift was properly functional. Two: The stock seat just isnt comfortable. Get something else, or not. Product is exactly as described. Lightweight cycle, not difficult to assemble. 20 mph, decent quality! That being said, it would have been nice to have a whole assembly booklet. It only comes with little tags, showing how to assemble the pieces. A fully complete pamphlet showing all steps to assembly would have been a better option ... show more

    • Dangerous inconsistent motor, be safe and buy a more reputable brand
EDIT: this bike is dangerous and should probably be recalled. The motor will on random occasion (usually in the cold), choose to not gear up as quickly as it normally does. Instead of going from 0 to 20 in a short burst it will go from 0 to 5 and stick there, maybe go up to 12 and then finally it will shift gears internally and go to 20. Aside from giving me doubts about the longevity of this motor, this is dangerous when making decisions in traffic. You can come to a stop sign, assume you have ample time, and then it just doesn’t go! To give a clearer picture, it goes much slower than a normal pedal only bike would when it does this, so you can’t just hoof it to make up for it. That could make the difference between getting in an accident or not. Be careful if you own this bike. Original review: Other reviews mention this, you will not get anywhere near the 34 mile range on a single charge (probably closer to 16 miles with some hills, though I haven’t done any extensive testing) The charging indicator is also unreliable, I will ride into a place with 1 bar left, spend a few hours there, come out and then there is suddenly 3 bars on the charge. I would probably rate this Bike 3.5 stars out of 5 it is really good considering the money, and if you work in range of the battery life and have a place you can easily charge without disassembling it is a good bike. But the reason for 1 star is the manufacturer felt the need to lie about the advertised mileage, which was a factor in my purchase decision. Also sometimes the automatic gear shifting is finicky which worries me about its longevity. In my town at least, this bike does not fit on bus racks because of the tire width which is a bummer when you consider the limited mileage. If I were to buy again, I would go for a more reputable brand with trustworthy mileage. The extra miles would be worth it for the added freedom because this bike is a dead weight once the battery dies! ... show more
