The Good: I really like the long shackle. Ordered for a magic trick where a random group of numbers will result in the correct combination for the lock. Combination is easy to set and unlock. The Bad: Not really designed for outdoor use as the tumblers can become gummed up. If you need an outside lock buy the keyed version. Overall: Tumblers are easy to read and I can have 4 locked items for the magic trick. Three digit number will be selected and after some basic math they will have a 4 digit number which will open the selected lock. Combination will not work on the other items. Lots to build upon from their as far as magic tricks go. For indoor use I recommend.

I would have given 5 stars but there were no directions with these 4 locks! I checked inside, on the box, nope. But I found a locksmith site and tried several different models until *CLICK* I stumbled on the right one!! No model # listed so it’s try and fail and try. Below are the instructions. Great little locks now!! To set your own combination: 1. With dials at 0-0-0-0, pull out shackle. 2. Turn shackle counterclockwise 1st 90° position. 3. Press it down. 4. Keeping shackle pressed down, turn another 90° to 2nd position. 5. While still pressed down, set the dials to your own combination. 6. Turn shackle clockwise back to the 1st 90° position. 7. Release and Lift to return shackle to closed position. Enjoy!

CINCINNO Heavy Duty Combination Lock, 4-Digit Combo Lock are ok locks. Not heavy duty. Shank is about 6mm, ¼ of an inch thick. Even though they are hardened steel, bolt cutters will break the shank. The shackle lock is brass, meaning a light hit with a hammer or chunk of wood will break it. The body looks to be non-ferrous so will not have rust issues. However, the shackle is steel and will rust. The long shank and combo is nice. I use these locks on my shed doors. Lock fits in the closing device and I don’t need to have keys with me if I need to get in. They aren’t high security, but work in that area for me.

This is a great option for when you need a set of matching combination locks for a good price. I would characterize them as medium duty; I have some true heavy duty locks as well as some “barely there” light duty ones and these are in the middle. They are extremely easy to set, the shackle is longer than a shorty gym locker type lock, and it closes securely. There is a plastic ring around them too so they don’t overly damage the item they are on. That said the plastic is fairly hard. Overall I am satisfied with them.

I have a big yard with several gates and I like to keep the ones on the back of the property locked. Instead of remembering where I put a key, I decided to go with combination locks. I've read elsewhere that these can fail faster than other locks due to weather, time will tell how they hold up in the Arizona desert heat. When the box of four locks arrived there were NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to set/ change the combination! I had to come back to the Amazon listing to figure out how they worked. Once I found the instructions online they are easy to use.

I wouldn’t even give 1 star if I didn’t have to. Worked great… for 2 days then the codes stopped working and I had to cut them off my gates!!! Very unhappy with these.

I like that these have a combo. That is much better than having a key. Of course all locks even ones with keys are there to keep honest people honest. Any lock this size can be defeated quickly by someone with the right tools and knowledge. But this is enough for me to put on some chests I use, and I toss one in the gym bag so I can lock a locker when I need to. These do a really good job at all of that.

I really like the fact that each of them are individually packaged in a small little cardboard box. No instructions are included, however I do see that the side small silver button is the reset section. This should be given as instructions as its not known to everyone.
