I'm not an experienced barista but have pulled a few shots on a friend's Italian double boiler E61 machine. I bought this machine to gain some daily experience in controlling all the variables of making good espresso After 2 weeks of making 3-4 shots daily I've learned what this machine is capable of doing. It is capable of making a quality espresso. The scooper-tamper leaves much to be desired, don't use it. Weigh your doses, use a real 51mm tamper and a distribution tool to prevent channeling. After two weeks of practice I was able to consistently achieve 18 grams in 36 grams output. During the output you must press the espresso icon a few seconds earlier than its programmed shut off or you'll get over-extracted bitter brew. I've used a couple of commercially ground espresso brands, and home roasted beans ground just before extraction on a 1 year old Breville conical mill grinder set to 10. I don't make milk drinks daily but did try the frother 4 or 5 times. It works well once you get used to its oddities and limitations. Don't expect to heat more than 8 ounces to 160F in one frothing session. I did buy the 3 year warranty. The machine feel very lightly built, longevity is not expected at this price point. If it makes it three years I'll feel satisfied with the purchase. I'll set a reminder to follow up this review in 1 year. Accept the machine for what it is, capable of good espresso at a low price point and it is useful enough to keep for light daily use. It has however intensified my desire for a nice ECM, Rocket or Profitec once the kids are out of college circa 2032. ... show more

I can’t wait to open my new toy once I receive it! I have been using K cup machine for a while. Recently, I fall in love with espresso. It is easy to use. One button can come out a good coffee, and I can also use the steam function. My husband was so excited to try it! Love it!

The media could not be loaded. This unit has replaced my old cafe barista machine, and has been used daily for a month without issue. It is easy to clean, and holds up to moderate daily abuse. I love the color display, it looks like a tv screen, and also still looks great after several wipe downs. It brews quickly, and has a large enough capacity for immediate additional brewing, and steaming which works great with milk, and creamer.
