For outside mount, shade should be 4 - 6 wider than window frame, shade length should be at least 2 longer than the window length for better coverage.

I installed the brackets to the top inside of the window Jam. They fit well and were easy to install. I don't love that the roller action is not particularly smooth. It feels pretty jerky/ratchety as you pull the chain in either direction, but it is functional and aside from that point they seem to work well. I do wish the chain was shorter, or could be shortened. It doesn't overhang the window sill but it is a lot longer than needed for a typical window.

I have been ordering blinds to refresh my home. I ended up doing top-down bottom- up honeycomb shades for my den and kitchen. They let in a lot of light. We bought a wedding venue and the windows are beautiful but in the heat of the day it was killing our air conditioning units and causing them to run non stop and not keep up.i didn’t want to tent the windows and change the colors of the beautiful outside view. I priced draw shades at Lowe’s and with 21 windows.. GEESH! All our windows were off in size we realized. I bought up and thought I could cut them down but we maneuvered and only one of the 21 opens super tightly. They have made a HUGE difference on keeping temps down and we are ever so thankful. They look really nice too. Very pleased so far.

I like the selection of sizes, the ease of installation, and the price. They do a great job of blocking the light and keeping the rooms cooler. I knocked off one star for the lack of color selection and one of the screens has a little bit of the plastic peeled off when we first pulled the shade down and now there are two pinholes of light coming through. Makes no difference in the effectiveness of it, more annoying than anything. Overall, good product. Would purchase again.
