I wasn’t sure what to expect given the price was so reasonable… I needed 5 but ordered one just in case I didn’t like it or my measurements were off. The blind arrived on time and was installed in 10 minutes- which was mostly the time in took me to dig the hand drill out of the basement and walk back to the outdoor office where this blind was going! I love that the mounting brackets are metal- blinds are meant for high UV areas that need the light blocked, and over the years I’ve spent more time replacing them because the plastic bracket goes brittle and snaps… I’m excited to see how long these last without that possibility! I was also unsure about a blind without a cord- it’s amazing! Just a light touch to raise this system, so no worry about tangled cords or cords not being safe, also no torquing on the top mount where the cord connects- love it! I plan on ordering four more to do the rest of the windows and when all is said and done- will have spent a fraction on what easily could have been hundreds of dollars! ... show more

I've bought about a dozen of these Chicoligy blinds over the years for different window applications. The 8 I recently bought were of the same good quality for the price as in the past. Several key points:. The blinds are a .5 inch less then the indicated width (ex. 24" wide is actually 23.5", 48" wide is 47.5" wide, and so on.) This has worked well for all my applications. If you plan to mount these between the verticals of the window, keep that in mind. Mounting is really easy if you use this method and if you mount to the outer face of the window. Just predrill and use the 2 screws for each bracket. When you lower the blind to cover your window they do initially look a little crooked left to right. But it fixes itself easily if you just pull down on the left or right side, whichever side appears higher. They even out. Then you can just raise and lower them from the center going forward. Mine were pretty consistently about a quarter inch high on the left side initially when lowered. So I lowered them by holding the left side to even them out. They always seem to retain the level once set. These do come with the bottom hold down brackets to hold the ends in place if you want to keep them always lowered and just want to close and open the slats. I don't use them, but they seem like they'll do the trick. I've never had a problem with the wand or mechanism used for opening/closing the slats. These come with a one year warranty and you can get replacement parts by contacting them. Instructions don't really say how to do that but it looks like the chicology.com website has all the information. Overall I'm happy with these and will continue to look for the Chicology brand if I need more. (I have no personal affiliation with the brand whatsoever.) ... show more

These are just simple blinds. They work as listed. Easy to install. Trash the screws that come with it. Use self tapping wood screws and a drill and you can be done in about 45 seconds. I ordered 22” wide but they measured 21.5. So they were a touch too narrow. They are for my storage room so not a big deal. Just be informed they were not tge dimensions as listed. They are also 1” blinds not the 2” as listed. But the photos showed them as 1”. Still not a big deal for me. Just wanted to pass the info on the mis measured listing. ... show more

Before you mount the brackets, look closely at the top of the blinds and practice installing them on the blinds. It will help familiarize you on how to snap them in as well as where you need to mount them. The instructions show you how the brackets should be mounted but nothing about spacing, if you mount them too far apart, the shade may not snap in place and if your more than 3 inches in, the clip will interfere with the shade mechanism inside the top. ... show more

so i ordered these not expecting much. I ordered 42" as i wanted to cover the entire window and not install them inside the window frame and have that small gap on either side we are all to familiar with. Could not beat the price. i was expecting low quality for the price of 18.00, HOWEVER what i received actually surpassed my expectations. Pretty decent quality to be honest. Individual blades are a bit thinner then the ones you would buy in the box stores but not a deal breaker for me as they are still acceptable thickness. Anyone who has installed blinds knows that aggravating struggles some can be. Installing these blinds took all of 10 minutes. Functionality they work exactly as expected with no issues. They raise and lower smoothly. Opening and closing the blinds, they open even more smoothly. That was actually a shock to me. What i DID NOT LIKE: Opening the box and removing the blinds the entire back of the mounting track is scuffed with black marks. Now this is normal for packaging and can usually be wiped off, Not in this case. It looks as if a couple of employees decided to slide these back and forth across the floor in some warehouse game of my turn. Thankfully the scuffs where on the backside and once installed it could not be viewed. Even at a low price it is expected to receive a product that is not covered in uncleanable black scuffs or what looks like wear and tear on a brand new item. The mounting screws that accompany the installation kit is NOT an anchor kit so make sure you are either screwing into the inside of a window frame or to a wall stud if you are covering the entire window, do not install these above the window as i did and if you are make sure you have anchors Overall: I really am please with these and will be buying quite a few more in the next few weeks. The weight and quality and i have no doubts these will last a few years. Keep in mind mileage may vary, I can see these wearing within a year or two for household that have children.
