  • Works great
Easy to install and the chickens figured it out quickly too. The pop out cup is convenient for cleaning.

  • Great Product!
I attached 2 of these to a plastic, clean, unscented litter container and it works great! The water stays much cleaner. They were very easy to install when following the instructions. I've had them for a few years now and am very pleased. We had a hard freeze for several days and I was challenged as to how to keep the cups from freezing even though I have a piece of heat tape inside the container. A bit of hot water in the morning will loosen the ice chunk which allows the water to freely flow again. ... show more

  • Works well but it's not 'set and forget'
The RentACoop Automatic Chicken Water Cup is a well-functioning product. The cups hold and deliver on-demand water as advertised. I plumbed mine with 1/2 PVC gravity fed from a 20gal food grade trash can (which collects water from the roof). The only issue I have with the system is cleaning. The chickens dirty up the cups fairly rapidly, and each cup needs to be cleaned every other day or so. The cups are easy to clean, just rotate the cup 90 degrees and rinse it out. I noticed that RentACoop has come out with a cup-in-cup design so you can clean a set of cups and then just swap them out for the dirty ones (saw that upgraded product on their website). I think that's a more user-friendly system than the current one. Although, I will say that both systems beat having to haul water out to the chicken coop! ... show more

  • Labor reducer
These cups save on cleaning and frequent watering. Just drill and install in the container of your choice. I hang mine to prevent them using the top for a toilet or kicking wood chips into the cups and it works great.

  • From a verified chicken small farm
Just came down from the chicken coop which houses tiny baby chicks and sizes up from there. My husband distributed the 7 (of the 1st order-3 more orders on their way) cups depending on best usage. The baby chicks took to them immediately. Cups are 1" above the bottom of the bucket. Sits on 1 cinder block with another one angled in front of the water cup. The little ones jump on the angled cinder block so they can get the water from the cup sitting on the main cinder block. They love it. The bigger chickens are more skeptical of this new situation but will get the idea with a few more buckets in the area. I am absolutely thrilled with these water cups. Can't wait for the others to arrive. I would have liked to have had them several yrs ago as we put in the nipples; took them out then back in but the chickens did not seem to know what to do even after helping them. The cups are a miracle and we will not be without them as long as we have chickens and then the buckets with the water cups will go to whomever gets the chickens. Thank you so much for making these water cups and please do not stop. Everyone with a small chicken farm should be ordering these as it saves much time and water and work. Thanks to Amazon for advertising these water cups and all the great items in your store. Thanks to all who have read this review. God Bless and Be Safe and order these water cups which are a good size and hold enough water for several drinks. ... show more

  • Takes some learning to love these cups
So the proverbial Sandwich review for these cups. The good: No droppings in the water, automatic water, easy for young birds to use and understand. The bad: three floods, admittedly all of my own making, the cups all fill to differing levels, some to the very brim, chicks love to stand on and in them, time is needed to set up the cups for optimal fill. The good: Very simple to fit if for use only outside and if drilled at 80mm from the base of a bucket you can rest the bucket on a flat surface without spills. I love these cups but they definitely need time to set up and proper care taken when installed in a coop. Initially I set them in a 5 gal bucket and tested them in the shower, one leaked but only required extreme tightening of the thumb screw fitting. You get one free with each set of five so that would cover any that totally failed. They are not easily adjustable but you can adjust them by removing and adjusting the internal springs to add or relieve pressure. After stepping on and snapping it, one cup kept over flowing so I removed and inverted the small silicon stopper and the cup now works perfectly. The cups can get shavings stuck beneath them and flood out so do better with wood blocks beneath them, this also supports the cup when the chicks stand on them. I intend to hang the buckets from a chain now the chicks are taller and I think this will reduce the risk of wash outs, I also intend to fit a plastic halo ring around the bucket just above the cups to stop full size chickens perching on them. I'll buy several more sets to use as water points for the birds who free range in the summer. ... show more
