I received this item with the carton damaged, fortunately the containers were not broken. Once they were put together, I realized that they need to be placed on something to hold up the water container. If not the water just spills out because the dishes tilt. I found bricks that it could sit on to avoid the water from spilling out. The lid doesn't lock down like my previous containers did.

Purchased for my backyard flock. They are great! Cuts down on feed and water waste and you aren't feeding every other critter with the spillage of conventional feeders. Size is perfect, I fill once a week and could actually probably go two weeks for my flock of 8 and simple to assemble.

This item works, but there are some annoyances about the system. One problem is that because the cups fill as you fill the container, when you walk from your sink out to the coop, you have to be very careful not to slop it around or the filled cups of water will spill all over the place. Another problem is that the cups hang lower than the perch it sits on so you have to have something smaller than the whole thing so that the cups can hang down lower than what it sits on. I don’t have the option of hanging it. I also,I need to carry it out to the coop with two hands because holding it by the metal handle in the center doesn’t work well. It does not hang centered thus spilling water from the filled cups. I was hoping for cups that you can press down to empty them to clean them out, but these do not do that. You have to, clean it out when you refill it or dump out the water that’s in the cup and use a cloth to clean it when it gets too muddy or dirty. It’s useful, but not completely what I was hoping for. I’m also sort of wishing I got the bigger size not the smaller size , and I think I may have preferred metal to plastic due to the likelihood of the container accruing algae as my other feeder does. The item is ok but not great.

This might be my worst purchase ever, I am so upset. First, the feeder is fine and I have no issue with it. The waterer, however, is a disaster and the one I got was defective. Sadly I put these in my coop right before leaving for 2 weeks and had a caretaker caring for my birds. Probably because of my bedding material they didn't notice HOW MUCH it was leaking water and the damage was substantial. We spent the entire first day home from our trip, jet lagged and exhausted, shoveling and throwing out our new, expensive bedding, removing the floor and running a fan to dry. Chickens have fragile respiratory systems and this could have killed them. There were maggots and an entire layer of slimy water on the bottom of our large 8'x8' coop. This wasn't a tiny trickle in an isolated area- it was the whole 3 gallons draining out repeatedly onto the coop floor. I am so upset that this happened in our brand new setup, with brand new, costly bedding and cost us so much time and money and risk to our birds. All because this company can't do quality control. I wasn't happy with it initially because the design is flawed. You cannot set the bucket down on the ground to fill or do anything because the cups tilt up. This was extremely frustrating, but we were leaving and I didn't have time to return and order something else. Had I realized the water would just continuously drip out, I would have paid more and purchased locally. Lesson learned. Please do not buy this set if you care about your own resources- especially your chicken coop and chicken health.

I have had many chickens for many years. For some reason I have a group of 15 right now that waste food. Similar to a blue jay at your bird feeder. I tried different feeders, raising, lowering, etc. and nothing worked. This looked funny and I was skeptical but it works! They get all the feed they want but cannot spill it all over the floor. I haven't tried the watering one since it's winter and I use small waterers and change them frequently to avoid freezing water. Glad I bought this!

I love this style of feeders and waters! HOWEVER what i didnt catch until i used them was the water has a flaw!!! You cannot set it on the ground as it will break the water cups! Poor design. They should have raised the wholes where you could set it down flish to clean and fill without the worry of busting the cups. Would not buy again if I had the option. Wish my original was still available and I would have bought that hands down over this!! One the positive the quality is good. No issues with it leaking on the water cups. Just inconvenient
