  • Decent for beginners.
Pattern Name: Spire Size: 9.8’L x 26.2’W x 6.4’H
I bought a 20' one, though it has worked very well, I wish I would have built it instead. (link below) Some issues of note: 1: The chickens will dig down and make the bottom rail suspend between dirt they haven't gotten to....yet; some of the support posts were actually hanging in the air before I noticed it. Consider lining the interior perimeter with some other form of barrier like wood logs, a strip of linoleum, untreated lumber (not pressure treated due to unsafe chemicals but applying TimberPro UV’s Internal Wood Stabilizer (IWS) okay to use). 2: You'll definitely want to attach hardware cloth at the bottom; 2' up and bury it 2' out. Not only are there areas where baddies can get in but my more escape inclined Laydies were able to dig under and get out. 3: There wasn't enough provided chicken-wire. I started from the back, worked my way to the front, and barely made it to the frontmost section. I had regular wire fencing from a previous project so I used that to complete the very front face of the run. I did the door piece last and oversized the wire section for it; this creates a one foot fence section covering more than just the gaps between the man-door and the bottom of the structure; picture a cupboard door on a face framed cabinet having more material than just covering the opening. I oversized it with the intention of the fence extending on the bottom/non-hinge-side bending in the direction of you opening the door. The hinge side flexes while the bottom sweeps and makes lines in the dirt. My thinking is that this will hinder an animal trying to get in just a smidge more than leaving the gaps. 4: I bought the "spire" roof so that I'd have a bit more vertical room plus snow and leaves would fall off. I'm 6'6 and can not stand upright inside, though. 5: The tarp given only covers the exact top and does not come down the sides at all. It's decent for sun but the rain and snow encroaches into the covered area more than I like so I replaced it with one that does go all the way down. I later replaced that with a clear plastic to allow for light to come in. 6: Use metal zip ties. The plastic ones won't hold up. 7: I have an Omelette Eglu coop, with its run, inside the run (runception!). This isn't as ideal as I had hoped and I'm going to bring the Eglu outside and connect it to one of the front sections so the Laydies have more room. Overall, I'd recommend this for someone who wants to get something up quick and relatively easy. If you're more inclined to build your own, there is an EZ-Frame bracket system that I would recommend over this one. Cheers! ... show more

  • Good Product overall
Pattern Name: Spire Size: 9.8’L x 26.2’W x 6.4’H
I was able to put this together myself but did take me a while. The framing went up pretty quickly and the instructions were pretty clear on that. However, running the netting and the wiring the instructions were not good. I still managed to figure it out and had 0 netting left over. I can see others running out trying to figure out how to run it. A little extra would help. I didn't trust the cheap looking zip-ties that came with it either and went and bought some thicker outdoor rated ones to zip-tie all the netting in a lot of places to secure it. Overall I am happy with the quality of the product for the price. It meets my needs and would by again if I needed another or had to do it all over again. ... show more

  • My Chicken coop enclosure
Pattern Name: New-Spire Size: 9.8’L x 13.1’W x 6.4’H
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this to protect my hens & their hen house and to allow them more freedom to roam around freely without being attacked. The enclosure was easy to assemble but I would prefer a more sturdier fence instead of the plastic one that it came with. Come to think about it the plastic fencing would be ok if the opening / spacing wasn’t as large as it is, Now if they can make the spacing of the plastic fencing a1/2 size smaller it would be much better product in my opinion or at least have fence size options for buys 🤔🤑❤️ But I am happy because it does the job to keep larger predators out! I would still recommend this product. ... show more

  • Great purchase.
Pattern Name: New-Spire Size: 9.8’L x 19.7’W x 6.4’H
This is a good start for a chicken coop. It was quick and easy to put together. I didn’t like the tarp that came with it. It seems flimsy so I am adding a more sturdy one. That’s the only flaw I can see.

Pattern Name: Spire Size: 9.8’L x 19.7’W x 6.4’H
I desperately needed something bigger fast to save my chickens from the neighbors dogs coming over daily so I ordered this. I had it in my cart while I shopped for something else. I had a message within maybe an hour that they upped the price on it. I thought that was incredibly tacky considering it was already in my cart. I paid around $450-460 after tax for this. This came fast in two separate boxes. I could not put this together alone so I ensued the help of a construction man. It was much easier but still time consuming with him. The frame is easy. The door is harder although he said that it was easy. I would have never figured the door out alone and I read directions well. I purchased heavier zip ties even thought their zip ties are not that bad and made certain that I put it where no trees or limbs would fall on it. It must be on level ground. The boxes were not bent or messed up so there is no blaming USP for a bad delivery like some companies do to get UPS to pay for the damage. Having said that, some of the poles inside the box were damaged but only a few. The frame is bowed in on both sides and leans toward the middle for some reason. There are no stakes included and we are hoping buying tent stakes will fix this problem since it's only on the bottom. The plastic coating is easy to put up but very time consuming. You simply start at the bottom, flip it over the top, pull tight, zip tie it all around and cut it off at the bottom and the restart the middle section the same way. It will not keep predators out and we will eventually redo the sides with 2x4 welded wire. The worst thing with this is trying to reach Amazon. We put the frame together and realized that we needed some bent poles replaced. They are toward the top so we still put it together thinking we would just maybe pull out the bent poles and replace with new ones once they came. You cannot ever get through to a live person on Amazon so their chat box told me to return it. I did not spend hours putting this thing together to take it apart and return it for just 2-3 bent poles. Overall, is this a good coop? Yes, it is. Is it worth the $450 that I paid for it after tax. No, maybe not especially considering we will have to redo the sides. It would easily be worth $300 though. Maybe even $350. ... show more
