We have been fans of Chicco products since our first was born in 2015. We loved the Chicco Keyfit 30, but after it hit its expiration date we were in need of a new car seat for our most recent addition to the family. The Chicco keyfit Max ClearTex Infant Car Seat is every bit as good as the Keyfit 30 and better. It is only slightly heavier than the Keyfit 30, and is definitely improved. The additional newborn insert insures a nice fit for a tiny baby, and will grow well with her. It seems more comfortable than the Keyfit 30; the padding is soft and feels very luxurious. I love the ability to fold the handle back with one hand. The material is soft and wipes clean easily, which is a must since our tiny girl will be sitting next to her sticky handed toddler brother for the foreseeable future. The lupine color is very girly and we've received many compliments on it. The improved base has a better design for safety which makes this seat a must. For anyone new to Chicco, installing the base in the car is fast, and getting a secure fit is super easy. I also love that it is compatible with our old Chicco Bravo stroller that came with our first Keyfit 30. If you're comparing car seats, look no further. You can tell this carseat is such high quality! The newborn insert it comes with is so luxurious! You will not need to buy any other form of padding at all for your newborn to fit comfortably. This even comes with the strap pads so the belt won’t dig into babies neck. Not to mention by far the easiest base install I have ever come across. Instead of those flat metal hooks that you have to fuss with and try to turn around, with this latch system you literally just push in on the red button and apply pressure where the safety hook is at and boom! It’s in. The base also comes with a leveler built into the side to ensure everything is level and safe. The car seat itself clicks in and out of the base so easily! No tipping required (something I’ve had to do and hated about previous car seats I’ve owned). One of the only blue colored car seats I could find, which I’m having another boy and wanted something different than black or gray, and I am absolutely in love with the color. I love the way that it unzips and folds neatly over to reveal the mesh in the back, helping with airflow for hotter seasons. The front cover that can be unzipped has a magnetic system to hold it in place that works surprisingly well, much better than I had anticipated when I seen it was magnetized. But the magnets are strong and hold great, while also being extremely convenient to remove. I really do love everything about this car seat. It is quality material, well-made, intelligent design that keeps things simple and safe. I have zero complaints and am so excited to bring our new baby home in it. I was really skeptical at first to be honest if it would be worth the extra money, as it’s almost double what I’ve paid any other time. But after receiving the product and comparing it to the ones I have owned in the past, I am so glad I made the choice to spend a little extra. Perfect blend of convenience and luxury. I also wanted to add that this seat did not feel heavy at all to me, although it was not much lighter than ones I have previously owned either. This car seat is SO padded, even underneath the infant insert, which is exactly what I wanted for my baby. I can’t wait to put her in it and see how she likes it. It promises to be a very safe and comfortable way for her to ride. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and installation of the base was easy. The seat is on the heavy side, so keep that in mind. The canopy is a little on the wide side, but functional and the zip-extend feature has really strong magnets to hold it in place. We tried both Uppababy and Nuna for our firstborn and he screamed every car ride. For our second, we went with this one and she is totally content! The quality is amazing. Padding is wonderful. It’s no heavier than maturity of car seats on the current market. It’s totally gorgeous and easily competes with the higher end brands we’ve had previously. My only complaint is the Chicco orange 😂 it’s just on certain mechanical components but still visible and not my favorite. Were expecting soon and the wife made mention of how light weight it feels compared to some of the cheaper ones weve shopped for. As a guy i feel the need to mention just how rigid it feels and the features. The thing feels like an ejection seat. It has a well made sunhood and installation was easy. Its also compatible with chiccos other equipment like walkers. The fabrics apprear removeable so you can wash them easy. A great buy to keep the little booger bean safe! ... show more

This car seat has been great. I specifically wanted one without flame retardants and some of the others are outrageously expensive. This one is a reasonable price, great quality, easy to install, relatively light weight, and I love that it has an option to be strapped in without the base which will be helpful for grandparents (who live very close by) and not needing to purchase 2 or 3 bases. The best- one handed release of the carry handle, fabric to pull down and cover seat, infant attachments easy to remove, clicks in to the base without a problem and easy to take back out. It is heavy though, that's the one downside but otherwise I love it

Super easy to install the base in the backseat. It takes about 10 seconds to remove the base from the backseat when installed with the latch system. Overall very easy to adjust and know it is installed properly with the built in tilt levels on the base. It feels of good quality and has a bit of weight to it. Overall I like the design of this seat as I can leave the base installed in my car and purchase a second base for my wife’s car and the seat just snaps into place no matter what car we use. I also find it rather convenient to have the fold up stroller which the seat also snaps onto quickly and easily when on the go. ... show more
