I love the actual hair straightener; it's definitely up to Chi standards. One exception: The cord is shorter than my first Chi & will not straighten out no matter how many times I uncurl it. This makes the cord even shorter & it barely reaches the top back part of my head. Hence, the 4 star rating. I do love that it heats fast (30 secondsish) & even has blinking light to let you know it's still heating. I had a chi iron for years, and when it died I decided that I wouldn't replace it, hoping to style my hair more naturally. My hair never looked good! I have combination wavy/curly hair, and even if I was pleased with the blowout initially, my hair was a mess within an hour; I live in a very humid area. Not only does this iron straighten my hair perfectly in just a couple of minutes, the results LAST.
