Missing bolts, no lock washers. Terrible instructions, if they can be called instructions. Two large bolts and associated nuts were missing and I was surprised to find that no lock washers were included. I'll have to get replacements myself. I will use Locktite on the threads because no one wants any of the nuts to come off during a stressful lift. The engine hoist looks like a decent piece of equipment for a weekend mechanic but I'd suggest a more professional one for a serious mechanic. Fit and finish are decent and price is reasonable. I like the idea of a balance to adjust the load but it adds a lot of chain which may make a high lift more difficult. I haven't done a lift yet so can't comment on its effectiveness. I only have a 4cyl engine to lift so it won't be a difficult one. 4 stars is probably generous but if you don't mind buying a couple of your own bolts and don't need directions, this may be a worthwhile purchase. ... show more

I dont think ill order anything else from amazon that is heavier then a match stick. This thing showed up at the house looking like it was what they dropped on the nuclear facility in iran then tied it to the back of a ups truck and drug it the thousands of miles to Montana. I was honestly shocked all the parts were still in the box. Putting it together wasnt bad after digging through all the busted packaging collecting all the loose bolts and nuts scattered around. It seems well enough built but the bolts are cheap and might as well be aluminum because if you tighten them to what you think is tight, the threads peel off the bolts like warm butter. Ill still give it 3 stars because I believe it will function as it should but the shape it arrived in and the cheap bolts was horrible and couldnt justify a better rating. ... show more

    • Replace the long ram jack
Received lift intact and in a very sturdy box. Some scratches and some poorly painted areas. Easy to assemble. Missing bolts found floating in box. Long jack is terrible. Even the lightest weight will not stay jacked up for a short time. Jack does work but only for a couple of minutes. I have a 545 lbs motor and the jack only holds it up for about a minute before it slowly starts to descend. If you keep this lift it is imperative to replace the long ram jack with a Hydraulic Long Ram Jack, 8-Ton Engine Hoist Cylinder with Double Piston Pump and Clevis Base. I purchased a Vevor from HD. Also lubricate the wheels, bearings and moving joints while assembling. Even after purchasing the long jake, this lift was cheaper than anywhere else. I am giving only one star as this jack should have work for at least a couple of years. ... show more

Works, missing a screw though, but I lifted a 350 sbc easily for the engine stand. Assembly takes a while if you're by yourself, I like it red 👍
