So far I really like the dehydrator. One thing of concern, the only thus far, is after the third use the entire front glass just fell off! I hadn't used it in over a week, but apparently the glue used isn't heat resistant enough to hold long. That is just a caution to anyone that has this unit, watch for it, the glass is really thick and could hurt someone, especially a child, if the same happens. Now, with that said I did NOT return the unit. My husband made 4 tabs to hold the glass safely in place because I love this dehydrator. I dehydrate berries, tomatoes, wild mushrooms, herbs, deer jerky etc So far I've used this unit 4 times and it gives a consistent dry each time. I love the look of the machine, it's easy to set the time, temps and clean up is super easy. ... show more

    • Nice dehydrator at a great price
I am very happy with this dehydrator. It is large, so it takes up a lot of space on the counter. I have it on a rolling cart that I roll out when I use it. It has a wide temperature range that's handy for a wide variety of foods. The controls are easy to understand and use, just a few buttons and a digital display. The heat and air are distributed fairly well inside the compartment. I regularly check the food on the 10 shelves to see if I need to rotate them and they seem to dry at a fairly consistent rate on all the shelves. I had a problem with my unit a few months after I purchased it. I contacted ChefWave through their website and got a response the next day. Devorah contacted me and asked if I could send a few photos of the issue. I sent them in and was told the next day that they would send a replacement unit out immediately. I appreciate great customer service almost as much as great products, so this meant a lot to me. I have a tough time going back to a company that doesn't stand behind their products no matter how good their reputation is. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

    • It's a nice machine
It's nice, does a good job of dehydrating and if it lasts for a few years I'll consider it good. From the photos on Amazon, it looks like there are several machines all made in the same factory with only the face plates different, so I don't know that there is a huge difference in them. They are all prices around the same amount, mid $150's or so right now in late 2021. The only flaw I find with this ten tray unit is the top tray is really close to the upper part of the cabinet, so you have less room to put the food to be d. I dehydrated a large batch of Swiss chard, which is pretty fluffy, and it was difficult to load that top tray when it was full. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it seems like the designers just decided to cram that last tray into the machine because they could. Barely.I I have both the six tray and the ten tray machines. If you are thinking about sizes, because the trays are larger in the ten tray one, as well as four more trays to boot, the ten tray holds something like 16 square feet of drying area while the six tray holds something over six square feet. It's quite a difference, so take that into consideration when choosing. All in all I consider them good purchases. ... show more

    • An amazing Dehydrator
This is my 2nd dehydrator the first one lasted 40 years! WOW am I impressed with this one. it heats evenly the controls couldn't be more simple to use but you will need a dehydrating foods book as a reference for time and temperature as well as tips to make this a positive experience. The 10 drawers slide well, they are easy to clean with soap & water as are the "plastic" inserts that you can use for smaller foods like herbs which when dry tend to fall through the regular trays. A plus is the removable plastic tray at the very bottom that cleans up easily and catches drips that can be hard to remove on metal surfaces. It has worked amazingly well for me this harvest season. The only downside is that it is rather large and you should definitely decide where and how you are going to store it before you purchase it. Save the box for that purpose too /and it is heavy so don't plan on storing it too high up. ... show more

    • Lovely workhorse of a dehydrator
I bought 45 mangoes and they are ripe now and I have been dehydrating some, and I am making fruit leather which also goes into the dehydrator. I tasted one fruit leather. A burst of edible sunshine. I love this. I waste much less food. If I buy too many jalapeno peppers or bell peppers or I get a large box of Roma tomatoes in my food bank box...I don't let them go to waste. I quickly prepare them and dehydrate them for a later use. Think: Sun dried tomatoes without the sun and with tomatoes that would have gone bad if I had not fixed them right away and dried them. As far as this particular dehydrator--I couldn't have picked a better one. This dehydrator is made of all stainless steel...all the 10 trays are stainless too. This baby will last a lifetime. It is made like America used to make appliances, to last almost forever. My advice--pay more this time and get the best. You won't regret it. And I am a real miser, so I hardly EVER pay more to get the most expensive. But sometimes it pays to shell out a bit more. ... show more

I process a lot of meat, snack sticks, jerky and fruit, in the past I was using 2 American harvester dehydrators, , a real pain in the a-- to clean, this thing is great, easy to clean and the timer makes it almost impossible to over cook. my first batch was 10 lbs of snack sticks, they came out great in less time, again if it lasts its worth every cent. so far I give it a 10!! i also use it to dry meat and sausage before i smoke it ... show more

    • Good quality dehydrator
I've tried several items and am very happy so far. It operates quietly, and seems to be very durable. It does have a pretty big footprint on the counter, so keep that in mind if you have a small space. The stainless steel shelves are excellent. I wish there were more of the plastic mesh trays to go along with it for berries, herbs, and other items that shrink up small enough to fall through the gaps on the metal mesh. Overall very happy so far, first batch of beef jerky came out great. Temp is adjustable only in increments (I believe of 5 degrees C) and time is adjustable only in increments of 30 minutes. ... show more
