I spent a lot of time going back and forth between knife cases and I am glad I settled on this bag. The fabric is heavy duty and feels like it will last for years and years. The knife storage is exceptional. The largest knife it holds is a 270mm Yanagi, 19” overall length. The elastic straps are nice to keep knives from shifting. There are plenty of slots for smaller tools and some mesh pockets for other items. The rest of the bag has tons of space. The biggest compartment has two sleeves for a laptop and tablet or notebook plus plenty of space for a chef coat and a spare. It is up against the back so there is some thick mesh padding and another hidden pocket. The compartment in front of the tools is large enough for a pad folio. I keep mine there because I think it offers a little extra padding for knives. There are a couple smaller pockets on the front that are perfect for thermometers, pens, pencils, small notebooks, etc. Some reviews mentioned poor zipper quality. The zippers on my bag are just fine. I like that they are sewn with the flat side out to help prevent snagging. Don’t waste your time like I did and go ahead and buy this bag. This bag has a ton of storage slots for all of my knives and tools. I have a lot. The construction iis excellent. It allows me to carry everything i need for my daily cooking and my catering events.

The media could not be loaded. Previously bought a Chef Sac and saw they had this new one and said to myself that it's time for an upgrade! Glad I picked this bad boy up. The tactical knife backpack does the job and looks f-ing awesome! Bigger than my other Chef Sac so I could carry more - my knives, tools, apron, laptop, tablet, pretty much anything and everything. Easily fits a 12" knife so if you have a longer blade, this bag is for you. The design caught my attention and my crew approves. Got a few mates hooked on this backpack as well haha. Quality wise, this backpack is very tough and well built. If its anything like their other products, I have no doubt this will hold up. Really happy with how I can fit everything in one place now, feel like Rambo with this on my back! ... show more

I was looking forward to this knife bag and geeking out over the amount of stuff I could carry around. Fist let me say I was slightly disappointed in the size of the knife and tool capacity. I did not have enough space for my pastry kit or my fruit carving kit. The action for the laptop and clothing is just to big. Also the section in front could have been designed better to fold out to place smaller tools. The canvas is ok but not a top quality. Don’t get me started on the lame suck fest of the zippers with a stupid draw string and the just come off the a regular tug. The whole point of this bag was to carry everything I may need and then some. Like that butcher knife I may need on rare occasions or the olive pitter that the bartender always seem to use when he makes stuffed blue cheese olives. Over all I do like the back pack straps but the zippers suck. The weight of the bag is a bit heavy and we shall see how long the webbing lasts. I had my last knife bag for 20 years an all leather Henkel knife briefcase. I really don’t think this bag will see past two or three years. I was hopping for a kitchen sink scenario type of bag but maybe I picked wrong. Only time will tell if the bag will last the test of time. Disappointed in the following: the zipper pulls. You would think for $199, it would have a zipper that wouldn’t crap out the before I could use it. This is the second time I’ve purchased a Chef Sac product and the second time I’ve regretted it.
