It's well made and simple. I holds a lot of stuff. I paired with some cheap blade guards (amazon- more guards than you have knives- cut length to suit- 7 bucks) and duct tape labels for each knife. If you have a decent sewing machine it is very modifiable to make more pockets on the interior for a notebook, peeler, silicone & cake spatulas, fish & herb tweezers, bench scraper, kitchen scissors/shears, ceramic honing rod..... it does have an interior zip pocket that is great, but added "contained storage" is very possible with some mods. it has all the space you need to work in a fancy restaurant and you won't be ridiculed. If you make some mods and maybe sew an Anarchist patch on it, people may ask where you got it? I am not crazy about the placement of the straps- they are a little too far in on the the bag making it imbalanced. I took the shoulder strap eyes off the bag with pliers and just carry in my backpack. If the strap eyes were further out on the bag and nicer- chromed steel, I would have kept. You will know what I am talking about after you receive. It's a great value and understated. Including the stuff listed above, I have the following in it: long Sujihiki, long Chef's, medium Chef's, Honesuki(Boning), Paring, Petty and long serrated bread Knife. I look forward to the canvas breaking in. I'm too lazy to take photos, but it is great! DO NOT USE WITHOUT BLADE GUARDS UNLESS YOUR BLADES ARE CRAZY DULL. A SHARP KNIFE WILL CUT ALL THE STITCHES. This is not a flaw. The bag is great.

I almost didn't order this because of mixed reviews, but on first inspection I think this a great knife roll...I'm not sure what people expect really. It is durable and made from heavy canvas. People have commented that it is shipped folded and appears warn... this is true however, I think this adds to its character. It is rustic looking, but it is canvas and army green at that. It holds 9 knives and has a small spot for a honing steel plus a narrow zipper pocket for tweezers, pens, peelers, or whatever you choose. What I love most about this is it is a true knife roll and rolls up tight. The knives are well protected and secure. I purchased Chef Sac blade covers and they fit perfectly into the knife slots to protect the roll from the sharp knife blades. This roll allows you to either store the knives with the handle in the pocket or with blades sliding into the pockets...both ways work well, it's a matter of preference and knife brand. Either way, I would always reccomend blade protectors no matter what knife roll/bag you buy. This is going to last a very long time. I am a professional Chef and have owned many knife rolls and so far, this is my favorite.

I constantly travel and i'm always asked to cook whenever I visit family. It's an honor for me, however they do NOT have the nicest cutlery. I needed a way to9 transport my high quality knives. I got this bag, hoping it would work for thanksgiving, and it's been incredible. This bag has carried my knives safely everywhere I go and has even gone to mexico. Excellent bag, protects my knives and it's an excellent price for the value. It's even large enough to hold my long brisket knife.

Hmmm, nice product, well designed, but I gotta ask " Why are there tiny spiders crawling around my order ? I killed spiders in my life, tonight, not large ones, but small spiders non the less. Knife Roll is very heavy duty designed and made, just disappointed that as I was inserting my high end blades. I had 6 spiders crawling around inside the " leather " case. Outside that, Im pleased, but seriously GET THESE MF'ING SPIDERS OFF THESE KNIFE ROLLS !!!!!! My roll appears to have been used and returned. This would be a good time to hear from the seller btw.

It is canvas so be careful when inserting and removing knives. I have used it about a half a dozen times and no holes yet. It is a thick and strong canvas. Easy to roll up even when full of knives, strong yet flexible, knives are secure when you tie them up, easy to hold even when full of knives, and it looks nice. I haven't had any slip out yet when transporting and carrying them. My knife honing rod and other sharpeners also fit. I use it when we have a church event, and we need to prepare and cook food. I have no complaints.

Works great, but my knives with very seldom use have already cut through a couple spots just rolling it up. I do not travel with these knives, and use them only when doing a fancy dinner. MAYBE once a month. After 3 months, already had a few cut through the sided. Tip protectors work well however, and it does keep my knives safe.
