I purchased this cover and a hydrocollator for my mother inlaw, she was experiencing deep soreness. Moist heat is the only thing that I’ve found to successfully penetrate the skin and tissue, getting deep down into the muscle that surrounds the bone to relax it...my mother inlaw now feels the same way. She loves her hydrocollator. Having a soft cover like this for your pad is imperative for several reasons; you don’t want the pad directly (it could burn you) on your skin, use is much more sanitary with a removable pad that’s washable, and I sometimes like to add a couple of drops of an essential oil onto my cover for extra relaxation. If you added the drops directly to your pad I would assume the oils could clog up the breathability of your hydrocollator. Not if you use this pad. ... show more

It locks heat longer than electric heat pad, good for temporary pain relief, need to continue on daily basis, eventually you will see improvements. Just one question - how to store if no use for a long term, i.e. a few months? thanks.

I’ve dealt with chronic back pain and rheumatoid arthritis for over a decade and nothing helps like moist heat. I tried just using towels around the hydrocollator pads for several months and finally decided to give these a try. Now I wouldn’t trade them for anything. They do an excellent job of distributing the heat. The four velcro attachments are sturdy and up to daily use. They air dry quickly so you aren’t using a wet, cold cloth if you need to frequently change heating pads. You won’t regret getting these. ... show more
