Description

This deluxe limited edition will come with gorgeous foiling and stained edges.A heart-stopping small-town romance, the next in the Sparrow Falls series, from USA Today bestselling author Catherine Cowles.I came here seeking sanctuary. I never meant to fall for the broody single dad next door.I've spent my life hiding in plain sight, burying my past beneath layers of carefully constructed lies. Moving to Sparrow Falls was supposed to be a fresh start, a place to lay low. But when I end up living next door to the single dad who just happens to be one of my brother's best friends, everything changes.Trace Colson sees too much and asks too many questions, and his protectiveness is as infuriating as it is alluring. And when danger comes calling, it's Trace who stands between me and the darkness. But being close to him is its own kind of risk. Because with every heated glance and every stolen touch, Trace tempts me to open my heart, to dream of a life I'd long since given up on. The only problem? Trace has his own demons, and when they collide with mine, the fallout could destroy us both. Read more

  • Trace & Ellie are perfect - LOVED!
Sparrow Falls is hands down one of my favorite series. I look forward to each installment & with one more left after this book, I know I am going to be incredibly sad to see it end, BUT at least for now we have Trace & Ellie's story to keep us fed until then. And boy does Catherine Cowles deliver us such a satisfying & suspenseful single dad romance that just hits all the right spots. We met Ellie in the last book - Lincoln's sister, who moves to Sparrow Falls after breaking up with her fiancé (highly recommend reading this series from the beginning, but at least read Beautiful Exile for Ellie's introduction). She's restarting her new life away from all she's known, & she happens to move next door to Trace, the local sheriff & grumpy single dad to the cutest little girl, Keely. Both Trace & Ellie have dark pasts that catch up to them, but while danger starts to lurk around, Trace & Ellie become closer than they expected to be... This is a slow burn, frenemies-to-lovers with all the banter. You will get some wonderfully steamy moments between Trace & Ellie, but it's also Ellie & Keely's relationship that is so adorably cute (& filled with lots of bows & sparkles). Trace has this protective, touch her &... vibe that I just love in an MMC. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat & the villain in here is another one I did not see coming. Plus, we have the entire Colson crew making epic appearances (yes, we have Grandma Lolli & her inappropriate art). And if you love a good audiobook, this dual narration by Jason Clarke & Desiree Ketchum is one you don't want to miss. They embody these characters perfectly! This series is so incredible & with the last book around the corner, I am counting down the days until we get to come back to Sparrow Falls one last time. ... show more

4.5 ⭐️ Available on KU This is definitely one of my favorite series and I know im just going to fall apart come October when Secret Haven is released. I love all these characters so much. Trace and Ellie were so good and sweet, they talked things out and stayed, holding on tight to each other. Trace was such a good girl dad. It made me cry. Ellie girl was strong, loved how she picked herself up and fought to keep going. Precious, really. I didn’t guess the baddie in this one, but I liked who it turned out to be and not my weird “everyone is the obvious suspect.” So much Lolli wisdom and jokes in this one. Loved that! Not a lot of angst, but that’s probably because it’s all in the next one. We got crumbs of Kye and Fallon in previous books, but in this one we got some cookies and man, we are in for one wild ride. But also? The snippet for Dex’s book!!! Yes please! Can’t wait! ... show more

  • MY NEW FAVORITE CC BOOK!
ARC Review 🤍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I JUST READ MY NEW FAVORITE CATHERINE COWLES BOOK (and I’m going to tell you all about it). I absolutely fell in love with Ellie as an FMC. I connected so much with her journey to step out and find herself. She’s a ray of sunshine, but she’s strong and she learns how to take back what was stolen from her not just in a relationship with somebody else, but on her own terms. And Trace—oh, Trace. I knew I would fall in love with him from the moment we first met him in Fragile Sanctuary (Grumpy, brooding single Dad and older brother, who makes it his priority to be the protector of his siblings and daughter? Give me twenty!!) But I didn’t know just how much until reading Chasing Shelter. I just wanted to hug him throughout the whole book. Little him AND adult him. He put the weight of the world on his shoulders and it was beautiful to see him let go of that weight a bit by the end of the book. These two were absolutely PERFECT. Talking about opposites attract—Trace and Ellie are the absolute definition, but they work so well together. She helps him to let loose and cut back a little and he helps her to settle down and find her footing. And the banter was SO FUN to read. And Keely—sweet Keely. She stole my heart in this book. Ellie and her were soulmates coded in a besties/bonus mom type way. She had so much spunk and connected their little family together so perfectly. A love letter to the Colsons: one of the most PERFECT found families I’ve ever read about and I’m not sure how anything will compare after them. They’re the definition of always there for each other, the reinforcement that family does not have to be blood. From the group texts to the family dinners, they make time for each other. They’re hilarious as one and as individuals (Lolli—I’m looking at you) and I love reading about this little family so much. As always—I think I need to stop guessing the villain because I never get it right. Maybe next book, I’ll get a cork board and pretend like I’m in an episode of Criminal Minds 🤫 I can’t believe this series is almost over. I’m SO EXCITED for Kye and Fallon (IYKYK, it’s one of my most anticipated reads of 2025) but leaving this series is going to hurt. I’ve loved every single one of these characters and I can’t wait to read anything CC writes after this. ... show more

  • 5⭐️
First 5⭐️ read of July! Chasing Shelter felt like a warm hug wrapped in suspense and small-town charm. Catherine Cowles has this magical way of mixing heart-melting romance with just enough danger to keep you on your toes. The chemistry between the main characters? Chef’s kiss. I adored how their connection built slowly — full of stolen glances, quiet understanding, and that undeniable spark that makes you want to curl up and never stop reading. Miss Catherine truly has a gift for balancing suspense, romance, and healing in one story. Trace was the perfect blend of protective and vulnerable.
Ellie — my heart broke for her, but I loved how she was fierce, brave, and totally lovable. Let’s also take a moment for the side characters: a loyal dog, a cute goat, the hilarious (and slightly unhinged) Lolli, and the siblings who brought so much heart. Each one added the perfect touch of spice, humor, and warmth to the story. This book was sweet, a little angsty, and completely heart-swoony. If you're into emotional healing, found family, and love that feels like coming home — this one’s for you. 🩵🐾🌧️ ... show more
