    • Be prepared to be sprayed with whatever chemical you decide to use
Each of the plastic ball valves cracked at different times when I had dyed herbicide in the tank. Everything within range was sprayed blue. I suggest you spray half a tank of water at high pressure to test ball valves before adding chemicals. The pressure valve rattles around so that you don't know what pressure you are spraying with. Finally the arrow hand on the valve is stuck on the wrong side of the stop pin, so it is useless. My latest effort to correct this poorly designed sprayer is to replace the plastic ball valves with brass ball valves. With a new pressure gauge, the arrow hand rattles around and still does not give me a clear pressure reading and the pump runs all of the time. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This sprayer would probably be alright, had the lead wire assembly been in the box. The pump simply cannot operate without an electrical connection. But I have to look on the bright side, at least there were two of everything else. Two pressure gauges, two sets of tie downs, (for added security, of course) two hose clamps, two hose fittings with ball valves, and two drain plugs. I needed this darn thing yesterday, but now I have to decide whether to contact Chapin and try to get them to send the lead wires (good luck with that) or purchase the wires and clamps, etc. and build my own. I dread purchasing items from anywhere these days. It seems that everything I buy has a part or two missing, or just doesn't work at all. Maybe it is time to stop depending on foreign manufacturing and start building things in America again. Just a thought. Update, 19June2019: I contacted Chapin customer service, and they are sending the lead wire assembly out today, so in a few days I will be able to test the performance of this sprayer. 28 July 2019: Within an hour of requesting a return label, the UPS guy arrived with my lead wire assembly. I feel bad now. I cancelled the return and assembled the sprayer, and ran some plain water through it. It seems as though it will work as intended. My apologies to Chapin, they came through after all. I will keep it. It appears that replacement parts are available to repair the pump if there is a problem in the future. With proper maintenance this sprayer should provide long service. ... show more

Great job to Amazon customer service! I used it to spray water first and check it out and all was good then l added weed killer. 26gallons ready to spray... lasted through 5 gallons and the pump quit! I couldn't just send it back cause l need to recover the weed killer. I called and they are sending a new one so l can transfer first. Thank you amazon. Now Chapin this next one better be awesome or your rating will go way down. If it is l will revise... anyone can make an opps. Now l wait! ... show more

This is just the right size to spray from the back of my 4-wheeler. I don't have to constantly have to be refilling it. Reliable and, if you have any problems, Chapin customer service is actually a real service.

Pros: Build quality seems great after my first day of use. Parts went together easily. Wand and hose are long and very high quality. Includes alligator style clips and also ring style connectors so you can choose. Straps was wonderful....better shaped ends than typical hook-style ends. Cons: Not nearly as powerful as some of the reviews indicated. I was imagining a mini fire hose sharp shooter. It’s more of a beefed up hand pump sprayer. Pretty easy to shoot a stream about 10-15’ away, much less if you’re spraying a mist (because of wind resistance). I’m using a new nice (pricey) 12V deep cycle marine battery. Also, when you get down to 4 gallons or so, it stops being easy...it starts gurgling air if you’re on a slight tilt. That last portion you have to make sure your vehicle is tilted down on one side so the internal hose can reach the chemicals. The last gallon is impossible to get. Therefore, do not get the 25-gal model if you’ll ever want to just spray a few gallons....it’s not made for that. Lastly, the connection that sends a hose back down into the tank continuously leaks. Overall, if you’re comfortable with the cons above, this is a great buy at this price point. ... show more

    • Don't waste your time or money
Where should I begin? First, there is no lid on the tank that I received. I don't know how you send out a tank with no lid, but somehow they managed to send mine to me without one. So, after discovering I have no lid, I improvised and came up with a temporary solution. Problem solved and everything else should be great right?? Wrong!!! The drain plug cap on the tank doesn't tighten to a complete seal; it resets once you get to a certain tightness and it's made out of cheap plastic. Why is that an issue you ask? After multiple attempts to tighten the cap and ensure it was not going to come loose or leak, it still wouldn't seal tight. I finally got it snugged and elevated the cap off the bed of the UTV to where I thought it was going to be okay and not rub loose. Well, as I'm in the middle of my field spraying I notice that I am suddenly going through a lot of mix. I stop and look in the bed of the UTV to see a puddle of chemical mix and it's pouring out of the bed of the UTV. So, save yourself the headache, money (and even the time I lost having to clean my UTV). Find another sprayer. I gave two stars because I didn't have the pump or fitting leak issues that other reviewers said they had; so at least that was a plus. None of those leaks matter if you can't keep the drain sealed or put a lid on your sprayer though. Buyer Beware!!! ... show more

We use this sprayer to spray herbicide along all the fence lines here at the WPC building/property. It was easy to assemble and performs flawlessly. Be sure to keep the pressure at 60 psi or below according to the instructions.
