  • So far, after several uses, this sprayer has worked perfectly for me.
Size: 32 oz
I've used this sprayer and others like it professionally for over a decade as part of my roof and exterior cleaning side business. They are amazing tools once you open your mind to the various solutions you have at your fingertips. My last Chapin hose end sprayer like this was purchased in 2017. It still worked, but the dial stopped turning and I couldn't properly adjust the mix ratio. But using this around liquid bleach, I'm surprised it lasted that long. After I bought this new hose end sprayer, I was able to free the dial on the previous, so it's back in service as a backup. I have extensive professional experience with these types of sprayers, and I’ve found creative ways to utilize them! Let’s break down some of the key points: 1. Multiple Settings for Application: Having different settings for application is crucial, especially when dealing with various products. Whether it’s surfactants/soaps, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or fertilizers, having the flexibility to adjust the spray pattern and flow rate ensures efficient and effective coverage. 2. The black plastic deflector creates a fan spray, or you can remove this deflector to get extra reach with a jet stream to reach peaks of houses or into tree tops. 3. Lawn Care and Pest Control: It’s empowering that you can take pest control into your own hands. Applying pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides to your entire lawn allows you to tailor the treatment precisely. Plus, as a lawn care nerd, I use this to apply the liquid chelated iron for that lush green color. I literally applied this chelated iron a few hours ago. I applied pesticides several weeks ago, fungicides in spring, and pre-emergent herbicides in late winter and fall. 4. Roof and Exterior Cleaning: As a roof and exterior cleaning professional, I can tell you I know hundreds of professionals that have valuable uses for these sprayers. I use this sprayer and add my professional-grade surfactants to lift contaminants from the surfaces of my vinyl siding home when I do not need bleach to remove algae. This is a smart approach. Best of all, when I’m done, I can pour the undiluted surfactants back into their original containers. Since one of these professional surfactants is $190 per gallon, it saves me a lot of money versus diluting this surfactant into my 50-gallon chemical tank. Every professional roof and exterior cleaning company I know of uses these types of sprayers frequently. Dislikes: - The yellow handle on this model is smaller and less comfortable than my previous Chapin hose end sprayer. I have large hands though, wearing a XXL nitrile glove, and I could easily wear a XXXL glove. This isn't a big deal since I just squeeze the handle and lock it open. Likes: - You have a small opening to add/remove products to spray with the black screw on lid, as well as a large opening by removing the yellow screw on lid. - You have multiple settings for application. There is a reduction nozzle on top that allows you to apply products at a lower rate. - I can apply pesticides to my entire lawn. The two pest control companies I used in the past refused to treat my lawn. The pesticide they spray on my house is a thin stream, but when I read the label PDF for that product, they should be spraying at least 2 feet up the side of the house and at least 3 feet out into the lawn, so that thin stream is just eye candy for the customers, or in my specific case. Needless to say, I fired my pest control company and I do this myself, just better. Since I fired my pest control company, I no longer have roaches crossing my lawn from the nearby woods to be pests in my home. I no longer deal with flying/biting bugs when I'm in the backyard. - I apply pesticides, fungicides, pre and post emergent herbicides, fungicides, and at times foliar applications for water soluble fertilizers. I'm simply a lawn care nerd that does his own pest control, and this metered hose end sprayer makes it quick and simple. One bonus to this sprayer is the others I used had 16-ounce tanks, and this has a 32-ounce tank. When I mix my products that have a thick viscosity, I can add water so I can better apply these products. If I’m applying a pesticide and know I need 10 ounces to cover my lawn, I can fill the rest with water to reduce the viscosity and the product will flow easily. If I’m spraying the liquid iron, I fill the bottle, spray the required amount, and if I am a little over or under, I can finish without refilling. When I’m done, I return the liquid to the original container. I did see some photos of broken lids in the other reviews, and if I have a problem, I'll come back and let you know. ... show more

  • High-Quality, Reliable, and Easy to Use
Size: 32 oz
I’ve been using the Chapin G364D sprayer for a few months now, and I’m really impressed with how well it works. The 32-ounce chemical tank is surprisingly large, but the unit stays light in your hand thanks to the poly construction and comfort grip. With a full tank, I was able to spray nearly 300+ gallons of diluted solution — exactly as advertised. One of my favorite features is the 16-step metering dial. It gives me precise control over how much concentrate mixes into the water, which is super helpful whether I’m applying fertilizer, weed control, or pesticide. The brass mixing head feels solid and durable, and switching between mixing ratios is smooth and intuitive. I also appreciate the built-in anti-siphon valve — this gives me confidence that chemicals won’t backflow into my water supply. Setup is dead simple: fill the tank, set the dial, then start spraying. It automatically mixes the concentrate with water, so I don’t have to pre-mix anything. The fan nozzle is removable so I can change the spray pattern, which is nice for handling different types of jobs. It's super easy to clean when done, just rinse it out and run water through it then you can let it air dry. Another big plus: it’s made in the USA (with global materials), which is something I value. Overall, this sprayer is rugged, efficient, and gives me excellent flexibility in mix ratios. It’s a workhorse that hasn’t let me down yet — highly recommend it for anyone doing lawn and garden work. ... show more

  • Cheap product
Size: 32 oz
Only had for a few months and the sprayer snapped off of the liquid container. It was leaking out of the box but I ignored since I don’t use it that much. Buy at your own risk.

  • The only hose-end sprayer that works!
Size: 32 oz
In the past I have used the non-"pro" Chapin hose end sprayers (i've had a couple of them over the years - they break, clog, or otherwise stop working after a while.) They were always flakey. Sometimes I would spend 1/2 an hour spraying only to realize that the product in the container had hardly gone down at all! So I'd basically been spraying water the whole time. An earlier Chapin had a bottle that came unscrewed so easily that once or twice it fell off during use. The cheaper Chapin's had good features, but poor execution. Previously I had also used another brand (dont recall which) but it wasnt sufficiently adjustable. I was reluctant to buy another Chapin, but decided to try this one before giving up. Wow. What a difference. I cant believe this is a product of the same company. It works! It works really well. It has never clogged, the mix rate appears to be correct and consistent. It sprays evenly, and distributes a lot of spray/water mix quickly. The bottle swivels, so if you turn the unit left or right to get spray into different areas of a plant, the bottle remains vertical so the feed tube remains in the mix. It is also so much sturdier than the other units, and I like the spray-trigger much more than the on/off switch on the plastic unit. Its useability and features are completely different (which takes some getting use to, but I have decided this units features are superior.) Truly this product must have been designed and produced by a different company. There is no comparison. The only thing is that now I am sad that I wasted so many hours over so many years using the cheap-ass plastic sprayers that basically barely work. If you do any amount of spraying at all, this is the only hose end sprayer to buy. Period. The rest are a joke. There is one weirdness that I cannot fathom. You can set the spray rate to anywhere from 1 to 7 or 10 tablespoons (or teaspoons). Why not 8. Previously I had products that I sprayed at a rate of 8 Tbs/gal. Why not 1-10? If they couldnt do 1 through 10, why provide 7? What uses 7? Seven doesnt divide anything useful. Why not 1-6 and then 8 and 10. That would be useful. Not the end of the world, I just had to redo some math on a mixture to use 10Tbs instead of 8Tbs. Its just weird. ... show more

  • Very useful hose sprayer for a variety of uses
Size: 32 oz
I'm overall pretty happy with this sprayer! The good: - Metal construction of the actual sprayer part results in a very strong spray that can shoot pretty far - Can vary dosage from 1/6 oz per gallon to 5 oz per gallon which is fairly wide - Hose attachment has a comfortable grip and functions like a typical hose spray attachment - Removable spray deflector for spreading out the water jet The bad: - Interior straw can come lose while spraying. I returned one unit because the straw kept doing this - A bit unintuitive to use. The dosage indicator is a small metal ball on the side. Dosage is in tbsp/gal (or equivalently, half-ounces per gallon). There is a little part you can attach to cut the dosage by 1/3. Mixed: - It's just not clear how accurate the dosage really is Overall it's not a perfect tool but I've been impressed so far and have used it for a variety of purposes, from pesticide application to mold removal. My recommendation is to just leave the sprayer set to one setting and water down whatever you need to. So you can just leave it set to "10" (5 oz/gal). Then if you want to spray 3 gallons of water and have a chemical you need to dose at 1 oz/gal, add three ounces of chemical and fill to the 15 oz line with water, then spray away. ... show more

  • Great sprayer
Size: 32 oz
Excellent for dialing in your application rate. I have always used the prepackaged hose sprayers for weed and feed, and bug control but with relatively low water pressure, the application rate was greatly affected by what garden hose I used. This sprayer provides a huge dilution window regardless of water pressure, or length/type of hose being used. It’s allowed me to go back to using a 100 ft pocket hose, which I could never use with the prepackaged hose sprayers because it just didn’t have enough pressure/flow to get even close to the desired application rate. Overall, very happy with the functionality and quality of this sprayer. ... show more

  • Not Worth The Money. Buy the cheaper model.
Size: 32 oz
I thought I was getting a top-notch sprayer.... In fact this thing IMO is worse than the ones that sell for half that price. * The connector to the bottle is very flimsy and immediately after I attached it to the hose, it slipped off a chai and dropped only about 20 inches to the ground. When it hit, the connector to the bottle snapped and about $10 worth of chemical ran out on the ground. Vey poor design. * The sprayer nozzle is NOT adjustable, so you have no control over how wide the "fan" of the spray is, so your only option is a wide spray. If you are spraying weeds to kill, you have very little control over the spray pattern. This does have a nice control over how much chemical is sprayed, but not where it is sprayed. I have used a number of these over the years and I find the cheaper all plastic versions out there are actually much mor useful. ... show more

  • Save your money and purchase something that is better made and will last.
Size: 32 oz
This sprayer worked as expected the first time used. On the second usage, after spraying about half of the back yard, it fell apart. I now have a bottle and a sprayer that are not connected and is not useable. I contacted customer service and they took care of this matter. I just received a new sprayer. ... show more
