Description
Chapin's 97254 25-gallon ATV spot sprayer mounts to your standard ATV, UTV or lawn tractor. The tank is chemical resistant tank with a 6-inch-wide tank opening for easy filling, mixing and cleaning. I strap this to the back of my ATV and works great. I wish Chapin included a cigarette light adapter as this is not permanently mounted to my ATV but once I bought one, it is easy to load up, fill, spray and remove when I'm done. I would change the bottom of the sprayer slightly...make it flat. The center is raised 1.5 inches or so and the pump tube just goes to one side, so you can't ever use all of the mixture. Over all, a great item.

Best feature I didn't expect is it automatically shuts off the motor when not spraying so you can be far away from the on/off switch while using. Great power and spray adjustment, from a fine mist to a shooting stream. The only negative is a result of the positive, if the hose were longer would have more versatility of use for me because with the auto shut off, I'd prefer to have the ability to be far away from the unit (I'm assuming if I were 100' away) I should have good enough pressure particularly at level or downhill and probably also at a slight elevation rise to use it in far more areas. Would be nice if there was a longer hose option with the purchase.

I have a small backyard orchard (6 fruit trees), decent size vegetable garden and multiple berry patches. The sprayer works well and does project spray up to roughly 16 to 20 feet. The sprayer came fully assembled and in good shape, I recommend snugging the hose clamps upon arrival with a flat head screwdriver for preventative measures. Simple product to use. This sprayer should last a lifetime as long as it is well taken care of; such as: flushing the system thoroughly with water after use and letting it thoroughly dry out in the sun, do not physically abuse it and do not expose it to harsh products and/or chemicals.

Minor issues on unit, but lack of information big time. Manual has brief item listing for parts, like harbor freight ! Does not give a piece by piece break down available. Yes calling them the help was great, but then buying form them direct is supper over priced, including shipping. No information on available nozzles either. How do you expect the public to buy the products without knowing about them ! All optional parts should be in manual listing too ! Still do not know what is available overall for this sprayer ! If purchased without trailer, the base threaded inserts for mounting are not there or included, not even referenced. Neither the screws needed for them ! Drain cap threads are rough and really needs a valve ! Start unscrewing the cap and chemical will spill all over for 20 seconds before the cap comes off unscrewing. Thread does not seem to be npt either, and no information again about it. With a 3/4 pitch, the tank will pump down to about half a gallon left in tank. If less then one acre of land, better off with an 8 gallon unit it seems. A bit oversized for my 9000 sq.ft. . Again lack of information for public.

We bought two of these sprayers. First thing, the drain spouts leak water, no matter what you do. Even if you try to tighten them down to stop the leak, when it gets. To a certain point, the threads jjjuump and it loosens back up. Secondly, one of the two sprayers arrived and the in-line fuse was improperly installed, therefore, the pump would not run. Once we had both pumps running, much to our chagrin, both pumps were producing bubbles inside the tanks because both pumps were installed backwards. If you turn the pumps the correct direction using the pre-drilled holes, the hose from the tank can not be connected because the hole for the hose is in the wrong place. We had to install the pump in a different location using self-starting screws, reconnect the hoses and the pump could work. Lastly, we had both pumps running water but could not use the tank because leaks water.

This sprayer is the best one I’ve ever owned. I had a lithium-ion battery powered one before and it died after 8 months and won’t hold a charge. Since this is 12v you can connect a wired 12v /110v adapter and you’re good to go. Very powerful sprayer and solid design. The 15 ft hose is also the absolute best since it’s an anti-kink tubing that actually works. Also it fits in a Radio Flyer #18 wagon perfect!!! This should honestly be a paired item in Amazon since it’s a perfect match. I’m going to drill a hole in the wagon to match up with the drain plug on the sprayer next.

Before I did this review I used this item 5 times with 5 full tanks of spray. Now when I first opened the box and started the set up I realized that it was assembled and almost ready to go. In picture #2 I found chunks of plastic in the tank from the factory drilling the holes for screws etc. So make sure to clean out the tank before first use. The picture shows one large chunk and also many small pieces i had to remove. Since I do not have a tractor or ATV I set my tank up in a garden wagon which I pull manually behind me as I spray. I am satisfied with the length of hose and the nozzle is adjustable. I have a solid state battery 12 Volt which I attach to the pump power clips. It works great for this and I charge it while the tank is not in use. I sprayed 3 full tanks one morning without charging the battery and it was still working fine when I finished. This unit has plenty of spray pressure for extending the distance of spray. I did have to tighten the hose that is attached to the pump as it leaked the first time I used it. Simple fix just a screw driver. I would recommend this product for people with 1 or 2 acres. Our lot is in the city and is 1.2 acres. Since we are in the city I must keep my weeds in control to avoid the weed patrol. Before this purchase I used a 2 gallon sprayer and would spend several days spraying. Now I can get done in one day. What a time saver! A must to have for larger properties. I really like this thing. Tip: I not always empty it when I spray. So to clean it I pull the suction hose out and place it in a bucket of clean water spray until clear and only water come out. I return the suction to the tank and don't allow it to run again until I am ready. I do recommend this Chapin 15 Gallon sprayer.
