This is a great item and works as it should. the shade is very light (weight wise) so it will blow all over if the window is open and I want the shade down a bit. The shade also does not retract on its own, you have to push it up. I can't figure out if I love or hate that. I would recommend overall.

These blackout roller shades do a great job blocking out light and helping keep the room cooler. The fabric feels thick and high quality, and the thermal insulation really makes a difference, especially in sunny rooms. The cordless design is smooth and easy to use, and I love that you can stop the shade at any height you want. Mine is 44" wide and fits perfectly. The price is great for the quality. Installation was simple, and once up, the shades look clean and modern. They also provide great privacy while still looking sleek on the window.

The Changshade Blackout Roller Shade is easy to install with clear instructions. It has excellent light blocking and the cordless, hand-operated mechanism works smoothly and quietly without springs or cords. It is made out of quality materials like thick, durable polyester fabric with thermal backing for temperature regulation. This shade does not have automatic retraction, it requires manual push-up rather than automatic retraction. There were some wrinkles and slight sticking when opening, which seemed to fix itself with use.

This is a good economical shade. It’s solid enough to black out bright sunlight (best if it is the exact width of the window, of course). I installed this in a narrow attic window, where 26” was a very good fit. The roller mechanism works smoothly, though it’s very slow to retract. Where I’m using it, it’s easy to push it up to close. Installation is very straightforward, just 4 screws to attach the brackets, then snap the shade on. Spring-loaded clips make it easy to remove if needed. Overall good value.

Shades are necessary for most windows. Curtains, alone, will not properly block the light. You need a shade to eliminate as much outside light as possible and these shades from Changshade are as good as any. Installing these will require drilling small holes near the top of the windows, so make sure you have adequate space to do that. Once installed, which takes little time, the shade will be ready to use. The most unusual feature of these shades is that they are not spring- activated, like most other shades, and they do not have cords. They are completely hand operated: You pull them down, and push them up. At first, I was skeptical that a mechanism like this would work. I was afraid that they wouldn’t stay up and would fall back down. But that isn’t the case at all. They are easy to maneuver up and down, and since there is no spring, they don’t snap back into place, like other shades. Overall, these are good window shades for windows measuring less than six feet in height. They block out the light, making it easier to sleep and they are easily functional, requiring little effort to install and operate.
