The Champion Power Equipment 11008 10,000-lb. Truck/SUV Winch Kit is designed for powerful and reliable winching with your truck or SUV. With a rated line pull of 10,000 pounds, the strong 3.6HP (12V DC) series wound motor will help make sure you get the job done. With a gear reduction ratio of 216:1, the winch boasts a line speed of 3.9 feet per minute with a full load, and 15.7 feet per minute with no load. The 85-foot by ⅜ -inch galvanized, super-duty aircraft cable is less prone to fraying, even when used in highly abrasive terrain, such as in rocks, mud, or sand. This incredibly strong cable is guided onto the 2.5 by 8.8-inch drum through the reliable roller fairlead to maximize the life of the cable. The efficient three-stage planetary gear system, dynamic braking system and free spooling clutch along with the hand- held quick-connect remote control and 12-foot cable offer excellent control while winching..

The Champion winch works well in my raised loft, open bay shed as a lift to raise my tractor in to the shed for repairs and service. I had been using a chain fall, but the winch is so much nicer. I power the winch with the tractor battery and keep it charged with a small 120VAC/12VDC charger which I hope to power soon from a small solar unit if possible. The cable lead lengths are good for this type of alternate use in a shed instead of direct in a vehicle. I’ve used this only 4 times to pull my pontoon boats up onto shore at the end of the season. It is really really slow, but it gets the job done and has some nice features.

Install fairly well into my Artic Cat, replacing the original equipment which had issues with the terminal wiring. Main use is to lift and drop a snow plow, so only playin out a couple of feet, Half way through plowing the cable snapped, I had put in a metal link with a max load of 250 lbs between the cable and the plow as a "sacrificial link" it was fine. The snapped cable is tangled into the spool, spent far too long trying to undo the mess, will probably just had to start cutting and hope there's still ample left on the spool. Rather Frustrating. I purchased the 4500 lb winch with steel cable, rocker switch and wireless remote. Extreme quality winch. This is my second champion winch (other is 12,000 lb on my truck). Quite a job to install with all the wiring but Champion provides excellent installation instructions for all the wiring. The contractor is even color coded for proper hookups. It comes with really long wires and cables. I shortened all of mine to length for my install and crimped on new terminal ends. This avoids piles of excess wires/cables. The wireless remote is a must - once you use a winch with a wireless remote you will never go without one. I installed one on my 12K truck winch. Makes walking the cable back to hookup really easy. Champion has super customer service. I needed a frame part on the truck winch that did not show on the parts list. The found the part from another winch model and saved me from having to replace the entire motor to get the motor frame mounting plate. They are located in America and speak normal English. Got the 12,000 lb with the quick attachment showed up two days late but love the product, haven't hooked anything it wouldn't pull yet still trying. It's didn't come with the four bolts and nuts to lock the handles in witch is an option but I had some laying around.

I bought this Champion winch instead of better established winch brands based on online reviews I have read and my own personal experience of Champion products such as 5K generators in the past. The price was attractive enough for me to just give it a shot. The product didn't disappoint me from the first time I opened the package. The installation using KFT plate(101215) was a piece of cake on Honda Pioneer 500. I like the big buttons at least for this UTV. All the cables were clearly labeled. Included hardware was all high quality. The only part where I thought was subpart was the protective sleeve for the actual rope. It was not sewn well and started pulling apart but this doesn't really affect the functionality so I could care less. Also, the included wires were short but I do understand it would've worked fine on most ATVs but not for UTVs. Most UTV installation would rely on also a solenoid as such extra cables are expected. Since it was only about a foot short, I emailed Champion and they got back to me in 10 hours with a couple of solutions. I just appreciate when a customer cares to listen to their customers. The product may not be perfect but as long as they are working with their customers and I am loyal. Of course in this case, the product is pretty good. Thanks. ... show more
