  • Impressed with the Sawmill
Size: 14"-36"
Works very well! I added lock washers everywhere I could after reading reviews on various sawmills. Added my own safety shield, seemed like a good idea. I have a 24 inch bar on my saw and it fits the mill very well. Assembly instructions were a bit vague but it went together in 45 minutes. I purchased a ripping chain and built my own rail system for the first cut. I have years if chainsaw experience but was still a bit intimidated by the whole process at first! My very first cuts came out great, way above my expectations. Ran the boards through a cheap 12 inch plainer and was impressed. Have a million different projects I want to make with the live edge lumber. Be careful and have fun!!!! ... show more

  • Sharp chain and requires a functional brain
Size: 14"-36"
Great tool. Take time to set it up . . Place the guide handle centered over your cut width. Dont over clamp the tip bracket or it crushes the bearing. Sharp chain is the main requirement. Check bolts after a few planks.

  • Shipping fiasco
Size: 14"-36"
The product box was at least 10 times smaller than the shipping box. There was so little packing material in the shipping box that the product destroyed it in shipping. I've never seen such a ridiculous waste of material as this in my life.

  • Absolutely Fantastic
Size: 14"-36"
After reviewing all my options on Amazon I noticed all the kits as the same. It appears they are just by different sellers. This one was y far the least expensive kit I could find so I bought it and it works fantastic. We had 2 oak trees fall in the latest rains and I didn’t want anything to go to waste. So we milled 2 bench tops for some outdoor benches. Felt good to honor the trees by incorporating them in our garden. ... show more

  • Cheaply built with substandard materials.
Size: 14"-36"
Be careful when choosing cheap imitation Chinese imports. I purchased this so I could stop borrowing my brothers Granburg every time I needed a mill. Using this to save some money, I was sadly disappointed. Welds failed, parts vibrate loose and break. Didn't get to use this for several months after purchase so well past time of return. It went into the scrap bin after only two uses. The possibility of a catastrophic accident due to structural failures convinced me to buy the Granburg. I mean, what the heck, were only dealing with powerful chainsaws here. Wish I had checked the FakeSpot rating on this first. At least I am only out $75 dollars and not a leg or hand... ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Size: 14"-36"
I had some old beams I wanted to rip into boards to use for a farm table and benches, and this mill worked perfectly. I only have a 16" bar on my saw, and was able to rip a beam that was 10" wide. Setup was pretty straightforward; all necessary parts were included. And once it was put together, it was easy to adjust. Definitely worth the money. ... show more

  • Awesome!
Size: 14"-36"
Love it. A lot of value here. One of the nuts were (oddly) a different size that all others, but the unit worked flawlessly to mill a Elm tree my neighbor cut down. Instructions are not well thought out, still it took less than 30min to assemble.

  • Don't waste your time. Get the Granberg.
Size: 14"-36"
I ordered this to try and save a little money over the more expensive Granberg Mark IV. I didn't have a big job to complete, so I thought this would be sufficient. The ad says it's made from Aluminum and steel. Well, that's half true. The rails are extruded aluminum. The uprights and guides are steel. But the cross member that holds them together is made from chrome plated white metal. I had three logs to mill up, all about 6' long. The first thing that broke was the guide bar skid that runs along the log. It broke off before I finished the first log. Annoying, but I welded it back on and it was fine. The tack welds that hold it there are very small. I was most of the way through the second log, and making a depth adjustment, and as I was tightening the cross member bolts at the new depth (not overtightening... just snug enough to keep it from moving around), the cross member split right in the middle of the V. This renders the entire thing useless. And since it's white metal, it's not weldable. I returned it and bought the more expensive Granberg one, which is much better built, to finish the job. A lot of other people complained about the lack of clear assembly instructions. I didn't have a problem with this. Yeah, they are just pictures, but there aren't that many pieces, and you can pretty much put the thing together just by looking at the picture on the box. It's not complicated. Anyone with any mechanical aptitude should be able to figure it out easily enough. ... show more
