When I moved into my apartment in a suburb of Houston I needed an indoor antenna so I got the Mohu Leaf 30.( you know one of those square pieces of plastic white on one side black on the other that you pin to a wall with thumbtacks) It came with only a 10 foot cable so I ordered a 25 footer from Monoprice. I don't know how many hours I spent trying to find the sweet spot for the antenna. There was a lot of climbing up and down the stepladder, scanning, and repeating the stepladder and scanning drill on and on. Finally I found that placing it as high as it would go in ..of all places...a closet...(which I like a lot cause it's out of sight)...yielded me a scan of 77 channels. I was happy (Mohu is a good product) and still am. But when I up and bought myself a 40 inch tv for the bedroom a week ago I wasn't looking forward to going through the antenna positioning adventure again. It was then that I noticed an exceptional number of 5 and 4 star reviews for this little digital HDTV indoor antenna on Amazon so I ordered it and it was Prime delivered the next day. Wihtin 5 minutes of moving it around for the best position I found that simply attatching it to the back of the tv (via the strong magnetic base on the antenna) brought in 77 channels. And, here again, one of the things that pleases me about this antenna is that it is totally out of sight behind the tv. Highly recommended. Get it. ... show more

    • Excellent, but sensitive
I just replaced my older Tivo with new one and my very reliable old powered indoor antenna stopped working with the new Tivo. This little (5 inches tall) antenna looked interesting so I figured I try it out. I was not trying to see how many stations I could get. My goal was to get the main stations (NBC, FOX, CBS, CW, and PBS). I live in the city, but not near high buildings or trees. My old antenna was able to sit on one spot and get all the above perfectly. This little antenna was a bit trickier. It's very sensitive! So, for example. getting PBS stations at one position, meant I wold not get FOX very well. Moving the antenna four inches to the right, got FOX ok, but would give a totally black screen for any PBS station. Obviously, I found the exact spot after much trial and error, but all the stations I wanted come in great. So, the antenna works well, but you have to be patient. The magnetic base worked well in my situation. In my case, setting it near windows did not help. Nor did attaching it to the back of the TV. My antenna actually sits on the front left top corner of my Marantz Processor about four and a half feet off the ground. The cord is left un-coiled. ... show more

    • You will have to affix the antena to sometime made of metal because the base is magnetic
I purchased this antenna to replace the old "rabbit ear" antenna that I have had for quite some time. I was encoraged to purchase it because a buyer posted a video showing how he placed the antenna on the steel fire escape outside his window and began scanning for channels. I rescanned for channels once I installed it which consists of attaching it on to the back of TV and then placing the antenna outside or near the widow. Just a note that the magnetic base does stand so you can place near your TV but if you can place it outside or near the widow it would be better. It is weather resistant and has withstood the wind, and rain without pulling away from the child window guard that I have it attached to on the 6th floor of a NYC Apartment building. The pictture is GREAT. I am so happy that I purchased this item. I would highly recommend it. The wire is long but hopfully your TV is near your window. If not just place it as close to the window (and in the direction of the closest antenna tower in your town) as you can. For the price it will stop the choppy pictures and dead space on your TV. - Omni-directional HDTV antenna. Omni feature is required for me as I have access to stations or repeaters from two cities. - Works very well. Best reception and number of stations of all OTA HDTV antennas I've tried. - I placed a large sheet of Aluminum foil underneath the antenna. Improved image plane for better gain and reception. The antenna is placed behind my TV. No special location required. Your results may vary, since there are many factors that affect TV reception. - This antenna works well for both VHF & UHF stations. - This antenna would work well in car/truck/SUV as includes a magnetic base and weatherproof. This would be when camping, for example. Obviously not while driving (passenger OK, but not recommended). I haven't tried this. - Price is good. - No amplification needed for my case.     • Solved a Highrise Problem!
I live in Center City Philadelphia in a Highrise surrounded by Highrises. I have tried all of the top rated antennas that are designed to attach to the window but no mater where I placed them I could never get all the channels to come in. The locations that would work for most would not work for the others. With this device I finally solved the problem. Since it has a magnetic base I can move it to different locations to pick up a strong signal. With this antenna I discovered that I actual needed an antenna in three different spots to get the signals for all of the local channels. I attached a metal cellphone holder plate in the three spots so I could always know where to get the reception I need. ... show more
