First of all, I’d like to note that I purchased this refurbished for $27. For less than 30 bucks, you seriously can’t beat this thing. No, it’s not a powerhouse. It’s not snappy, it’s not high-definition, and it’s cheap. However, for what it is, you can’t beat it. I’ve tried running some games on it, the most resource intensive I’ve tried so far is the Sims Freeplay and it runs that flawlessly! I was surprised. The menus aren’t super snappy and you’ll notice a slight delay, but the keyboard doesn’t lag at all and it’s very usable as-is. Of course, being an Amazon product, you’ll get the most out of it as a Prime member. Lots of free books through Kindle, of course Prime Video, and lots of other content. However, if you want to install another App Store besides the Amazon one, you can download pretty much any app you want and run it as you would on a regular Android device. All in all, it’s a great budget tablet. I got one for my kid and one for myself it was so cheap. It works great for any basic task you need, and is reasonably fast enough that it won’t frustrate you. The battery is biggest downfall. It worked good for a week or so, but now won't hold charge for more than couple hours probably at most. But it was a good deal, so not much to complain about.

I was an early adopter of kindle tablets. Part of what I liked was that there was basic software for weather, email, and other apps you would need for day to day use. I know that the Google app store isn't here, but there are games I do like that are exclusive to this device, such as the 11 in 1 Card Games Bundle, E4 Version of Solitaire, and a few other things. It is a trivial thing perhaps but it is something I have used through out the time I have had a kindle. Card Shark lite runs on this where the Google version loaded on other Android devices doesn't always run. I know people complain that this is completely a service driven device but sometimes, simplicity is a positive thing. As I got older I realized that more features often means more stuff to go wrong. I do use the Amazon music app, though I am evaluating it. But it plays music really well. A crummy stereo can sound like a Bose, due to the quality of the streaming on Amazon Music. I have used Audible to help me read and finish books that I had little energy to finish. Sometimes the narrator has helped me to appreciate a story that I would not have been able to appreciate otherwise, much less finish. And it is nice to have a book read to you sometimes, rather than staring at a screen when you are tired, too tired to focus. I do use this mostly for e book reading. I have tried the other devices, but this is more vibrant to read on. I got this to replace an 8 inch with wi fi issues. I can throw it in a bag because it is small. And I use it in conjunction with my android phone because each new incarnation of android is more worse. In the beginning it took a third of the storage, now it is over 50 percent. And it is impossible to load software, even basic stuff with out having to upgrade every year. I have become sick of the low storage on my phone warnings, every time I want to put an app on it, no matter how small. This tablet has 32 gigs of space and was five dollars cheaper than the 16 gig. Plus I can use the memory card to store apps. It is easier, I have found than using the latest google system. I think it is a bargain. It is nice to buy something so it doesn't end up in a landfill. And for what I need it for, reading, Audible, and the few apps, it is a great addition to my life. ... show more

It’s a great kindle tablet. I love that I can read and play games or check emails and Facebook all in the same place. Only downside is for all the extra stuff you have to deal with a battery that doesn’t last very long. It dies in like 6 hours if used consistently.

We love the Amazon tablet because it’s easy to navigate and a great price. Only downside is the screens can be really fragile. I suggest purchasing a solid screen protector before using.
