Features

  • Certified Food Grade and Food Contact Safe-- Extruded from REVODE110 Polylactic Acid Resin. Naturally derived from renewable plant resources. CARBON PLA+ Filament is Food Grade Certified by both TUV SUD and SGS with reference to 21 CFR 175.300 of The U.S. Food & Drug Administration Code of Federal Regulations (FDA 21 CFR 175.300). Certificate included in listing images. REVODE110 has a low carbon footprint, is a renewable, low order and environmentally friendly, reducing white pollution.
  • Lab Tested & FDA Listed-- Most PLA Filaments are not safe for contact with food. To be considered Food Grade the Material must meet certain chemical requirements, which are specified by the FDA Code of Federal Regulations. The Material must also be listed with the FDA. The Material should be Laboratory tested in accordance with FDA 21 CFR 175.300. PLA+ filaments can be produced from Food Grade and Non-Food Grade Raw Materials. CARBON by Comfy Materials PLA+ is lab certified by both TUV SUD and SGS, in compliance with FDA 21 CFR 175.300.
  • Smooth Printing -- REVODE110 is one of the easiest resins to extrude and thermoform with. Advanced CCD diameter measuring and self-adaptive control system in the manufacturing produces PLA+ filaments of 1.75 mm diameter, with dimensional accuracy of: +/- 0.02 mm. A stable dimensional accuracy ensures a smooth feeding experience.
  • Mechanical Properties and Consistency-- Use REVODE Polyactic Acid Resin for both 3D Printing and Injection Molding. CARBON by Comfy Materials PLA+ maintains Mechanical Consistency throughout your Project. Tensile strength (X-Y): 35 1.1 (MPa), Deflection Temperature: @0.455 MPa (66 psi) D 648 61.5 C (142.7 F), Processing Melt Temperature: 190-220 C.
  • Professional Packaging & Compatibility-- Filament is vacuum packaged with desiccant to keep filament dry and free of dust and foreign particles. CARBON by Comfy Materials PLA+ is perfectly compatible with most FDM 3D printers, that support 3rd party materials. These include: Makerbot, Zortrax, Quidi, Prusa i3 MK3, M3D, Robo 3D, Wanhao, Creality Ender 3, Monoprice, FlashForge and more.
  • Printing Temp and Nozzle Recommendation-- Recommended Extrusion/Nozzle Temperature: 190C - 220C. We recommend replacing your brass nozzle with a stainless steel nozzle and using an all-metal hot end. Brass nozzles run the risk of containing lead, which can be dangerous for your health if consumed.
  • Food Safe Suggestions-- We suggest that you use a stainless steel nozzle and a stainless steel all-metal hot-end. Use a separate nozzle and hot end for Food Grade models. A second hot-end will keep your Food-Grade prints free from contaminants.
  • Food Safe Slicing and Model Finishing-- Depending on your slicing methods, your 3d Printing Machine, your finishing process, and your intended usage, the Food Safe Quality of your end product may change. Be sure to properly finish your models and use an appropriate sanitizer between uses of your end product. Printing solid models is advised.
  • Difference Between Food Grade and Food Safe-- Food-Grade means that the material is fit for human consumption or permitted to come into contact with food. Food-Safe means that the Food-Grade material is also fit for purpose, for its intended use, and will not create a food-safety hazard. For example, it may be fit for purpose to use a Food-Grade container to hold a dry ingredient, but that same container may not be fit for purpose to be used to hold a hot liquid.
  • Food Safe Considerations-- Just because a material is permitted to come into contact with food does not necessarily mean it is Food-Safe. Our Filament is Food Grade, and without modification is also Food Safe. Once the Filament is molded or extruded into a new shape, by the end user, the Food Safe Qualities need to be reassessed. For example: PLA is not rated for oven temperatures. Using this plastic to make muffin tins would not be a Food Safe application.

  • Arrived on time, works on Prusa MINI+
Color: Eco Black
Arrived on time and worked with a Prusa MINI+ using the Overture PLA profile. Used this for printing birthday party favors (toys). I used this almost immediately upon arrival. If you let it sit out for too many weeks, PLA absorbs moisture from the air, so your results may start to degrade. As is well documented elsewhere, once you tear open the original packaging, you may need to store this with silica gel or alternatives in airtight containers if unused for long periods. ... show more

  • not printing for me (updated)
Color: Matte Rainbow
Ok im feeling really dumb, I can not get this to print at all. I am trying to make a cookie cutter. I have tried nozzle temp from 190 - 240, bed temps from 50-70. Calibrated my extrusion. I can not get layer adhesion at all. I can get layer 1 to work fine but as it prints it becomes a stringy mess. I have an x1c. never had issues with any other material I have tried. I started with the basic pla + profile and worked from there. So far not so good. Update, cracked the code. with the X1C. Print with esun PLA+ and reduce the speed to 50%. I used the silent setting. prints like a dream. ... show more

  • Pretty sure there’s a lot more then 246
Color: Matte Rainbow
Very nice! Oh thing. This is definitely not a negative and some filament cost numbers could have been wrong on the models but I did the calculations I have used 246+ grams of filament. Yet there’s clearly a ton of filament left. I’m new to 3d printing so I could be missing something here but something’s not adding up. Ain’t complaining at all but if this is accurate the label should probably be fixed. ... show more

  • Great filament.
Color: Matte Black
I just finished my first spool. Worked great, not a single first layer issue, no misprints. If you need food safe filament I'd recommend this.
