As a complete beginner I was so nervous but excited to try this. It’s so easy to use AND clean. I bought this mostly to make dehydrated apple chips but I am definitely going to try other things because this is so easy! I bought a 16 slice apple slicer to get even slices (and save time) and the chips turn out perfect every time. Bought this for my niece for Christmas...she loves it. Shd said she doesn't mind having it on her counter, because it is actually pretty. She also said it makes jerky so fast.

I've been using plastic stacking tray dehydrators for years but it was time to upgrade. I mostly make thinly sliced meat for dog treats and had to rotate the trays half way through. With two fans, the meat all dries evenly. Things I was concerned about with this being metal was the external temp in case it's touched. Even at 195F setpoint, it's not over heated. The sound level while running is so much quieter than what I had. The trays fit so much better in my dishwasher than the large round ones. They aren't smaller in surface area and I can fit the same amount on each tray. I appreciate the internal light that turns on and off. The vent holes allow me to put a temperature probe in it to tell when the meat is to temp so I can lower temp to just dehydrate. I just hope it lasts a long time!

I wrote another review after first receiving the dehydrator, giving it one star less because of the difficulty in chiseling persimmons slices off each rack. However, after several light applications of olive oil with a brush, I had no difficulty in removing each slice. Then, I stopped brushing on olive oil and discovered that it was no longer needed. It was like seasoning the racks' screens. Now it's a breeze to remove them. Also, because the racks are thin, the persimmons cooled very quickly. Changing the time periods is so easy too, and the stated heat is very consistent! Next use will be to make beef jerky, the ultimate test. Watch this space.

This thing is a tiny little BEAST! I’m very satisfied with the temp control, and the evenness of drying. Solid win. Yes, it costs more than others…….bit I feel it’s totally worth it! Don’t bother with the plastic screen old school stuff. This is leaps and bounds ahead!

I’ve had this for just under a week and have used it a couple of times and have been very happy with the result. It came packaged well and with everything correct in the box. The racks it comes with seem decently sturdy. The cookbook has a few recipes that I wasn’t sure what they are, but many that I am familiar with. It seems to be well written and straightforward. We followed the suggestions for drying apples and they were great! The drying was fairly consistent from rack to rack and the time made it a breeze. This was well worth the money I spent on cyber Monday.
