    • This is a life saver. Highly recommend this dog door.

Review Image by Marge Marge
After reviewing many dog doors and watching a few videos we purchased this unit. Shown is my Aussiehole,(Australian Shepherd) well the rear of her anyway. She is about 50 lbs and full of energy, and is an in-and-out dog all day long. Opening the door took up way too much time, although I do work from home she was making me get up much more frequently helping with the exercise. I digress, the instructions are a joke as the recommended device to cut the hole is a chainsaw. This is a metal door. Seriously a chainsaw. Measure, measure, and measure, the dog door shown is large. There are several places to find out how to correctly measure the door opening placement. I can't stress this enough, the hubs and I had words over the height as I wanted it a bit lower, you see in the pic her belly is on the opening. To an Aussie, it is perfect as she can fly through it at her pleasure but for other breeds or more than one pup it might be an issue. Anyway, we used a giant drill bit to start the corners and then a Sawzall to cut through the door. We marked the screw settings in all the corners and used a straight edge to insure the door would be square and level. The outer frame and inner frame screw together well with the clear panel in the center. The light you see around the edge is where the panel goes in to close the door which needs to be caulked. It is not very secure and could be an issue depending on where you live, it was not a concern for us. We will caulk it and paint the door. This does not have good insulation properties as it is heavy plastic which may require some additional sealing in winter. This model was purchased as it was relatively inexpensive and we knew we would be replacing the door within the year. It took me a few treats and about a day for her to get used to the panel swinging back and forth but it was all worth it. She loves the freedom and I appreciate that I can work undisturbed, well most of the time. Good luck with the installation, we were finished in a few hours. ... show more

    • Easy to install
Size: M- Inner size: 7.6"(W) x 11.8"(H) Color: White
If you're not handy with tools buy this for someone else to install. It was an easy install for me. Just removed a panel of glass from the door and fit it in! It was easy!!

    • Works well, a little flimsy
Size: L- Inner size: 10.7"(W) x 15.2"(H) Color: Black
Great alternative to more expensive brands. We had a petsafe door before, I preferred that door closure. The door closure on this feels flimsy and got stuck the first several uses - overall not as easy as the petsafe door. However, I love the black design and after closing it several times, it's gotten easier to use. ... show more

    • Dog door is solid
Size: L- Inner size: 10.7"(W) x 15.2"(H) Color: Black
My lab, about 70 lbs, tears thru the old door and finally destroyed it. Purchased this new dog door and it's much more solid than past doors

    • Flap is held securely with magnet
Size: M- Inner size: 7.6"(W) x 11.8"(H) Color: White
My daughter has a Papillon and a docs/Shelby mix so both are under 25 lbs. they do NOT like going through the heavy duty transparent flap. Besides the sturdiness of the flap end the strength of the magnet closer I wonder if they will ever really utilize it.

    • It does it’s job.
Size: L- Inner size: 10.7"(W) x 15.2"(H) Color: White
It was definitely a bit difficult to install. Once in, the locking door barely fits… have to shove it in and really pull to get it out. Main disappointment is the air gaps when the door is shut… I feel like it could have better seals on the sides to limit airflow/escape. I wouldn’t recommend for directly into a house, luckily mine is a porch so it’s not as big of a deal. ... show more

    • great door for our pets
Size: L- Inner size: 10.7"(W) x 15.2"(H) Color: White
following the directions and the template, I was able to cut our metal door in minutes and install the dog door easily. I have a slight gap between the vinyl flap and the edge of the frame, but I may have miscut. I simply added weather stripping and its fine. good door, great price.

    • Not for cats....
Size: M- Inner size: 7.6"(W) x 11.8"(H) Color: White
Rigid piece at bottom of flap is very heavy and my cats could not really push it open easily. I had to unscrew the plastic piece from the flap (it holds 3 magnets) and replace it with a piece of packing tape that I embedded the magnets in. Now, it sort-of closes. But I'm not happy with it. The hard plastic cover for the door fits great and is essential where I live. My experience with pet doors installed in house doors is really poor. I could not find a quality door and I tried 3 of them. What was especially hard was installing the pet door in a paneled exterior door. Made it a little harder. But the weight of the flap is the main issue for me with this particular door. I had previously installed a pet door in a wall leading to our outside catio. And, even with the exterior stucco, that installation was a breeze and the door is incredible, has been holding up well. So, what I would advise is to install cat doors in walls instead of doors. It's way easier. ... show more
