Angus Theodore Hicks O.K. (Office Kitty) gives it a big thumbs up! Constantly frustrated, waiting for hoomans to open the door so he could visit the service techs in their break room, perform mousing duty, etc, and then return to his office for nourishment, bathroom duties, pampering, and naps in his climbing tower, Angus clearly needed the situation corrected! Concerned that vermin would be allowed to roam freely on weekends, when he was jailed inside the main office, Angus convinced management to make an "investment" and perform mild demolition to the wall between the office and the storage/break rooms. Having supervised the installation process VERY CLOSELY, he can assure future purchasers that if his office workers could manage to install it correctly, well, that should speak to the difficulty level. Within a couple of hours, he had trained the door to open with a firm head bump, his sense of freedom was overwhelming, and the ability to "up" his exercise routine to include high speed dashes throughout the various rooms and offices also led to much deeper and satisfying naps! The ultimate joy was when he was able to "play" with an unwary employee who came in Saturday morning, still a bit groggy, perhaps a little forgetful of the new "door", and woefully unprepared for a large black object to come hurtling out of the wall at him. No longer were employees forced to peer through glass, longing to give Angus his morning pettings....he could be right there, with nary a few second delay between the time they open the entry door until he launched onto their laps! Clearly, this new portal was a great benefit to Angus's fellow workers, who no longer are forced to miss even a few minutes of his attention and loving! Angus assures all shoppers that the true value of this door is a steal at even ten, twenty, dare we say even thirty times the current price! His ONLY concern is that it appears the door can "accidentally" lock...as happened recently when one of the hoomans appeared to be interviewing a new employee. This clearly could be corrected by simply tearing that defective lock button out, which would guarantee Angus's participation in vetting potential new hires. Luckily, the hooman was eventually able to figure the lock out and restore operation, but it was too late this time, as the potential hiree had already left, but maybe with more training, the office people too could be trained on how to operate the lock CORRECTLY! ... show more

I recently adopted a large cat, that is also overweight. My old cat door was a typical size door, and just too small. This door is a perfect size for a large cat or small dog. Got this cat door so my outside cat could go in and out of the shed. It worked great took a little bit for the cat to get used to but she eventually got it. It's pretty simple. They can go in and out or just in or out or neither.

Just bought our second door. We use this on our garage door for our barn cats. Unfortunately some moisture got in and froze the lock this week and the door ended up breaking so I had to order a new one but these do a great job at keeping my barn kittens locked up at night and allowing them free roaming rights during the day. As discussed by others, a cat that is strong enough and determined enough can push through the door regardless of the lock state. My tom was pretty surprised to smash through but it ended up in a cat fight and thats what we were hoping to avoid with the lock for near term.     • Good Cat Flap - Works Very Well
Size: L- Inner size: 7.1"(W) x 7.7"(H) Color: White
I like this product and it does the job well. It looks neat and tidy and the open/close functions work well. I put a blob of whiteout on the dial so I could see which setting I was using more easily. Be careful when cutting the hole for yhe flap. If you use the flap as a template remember to cut inside the lines of you trace round the outside and vice-versa. I cut the top and one of the sides then measured again. I didn't read the instructions and installed with my own screws that went all the way thru the door from front to back. That made it a lot more tricky. If I'd just used the short screws from each side it would have been a lot simpler. I installed mine 9" of the ground to avoid hitting the trim on the door. This increased the learning curve for the cats because they have to stand up on their hind legs and then push the flap. It would be much more intuitive if it was closer to ground level but they got there in the end. Well, the Mum doesn't really get it. She's spooked by it and won't even let me push her thru but I think we can get there with more training. ... show more
