Note: 1). Make sure that the width and height(shoulder level) of the pet are inferior to the pet screen door, thanks. 2). The magnet at the bottom of the door frame is for aligning the flap after swings, it doesn't work as a lock, thanks. Upgraded Product Features: 1. Tunnel depth could be cut down, plus 1 package long + 1 package short screws, double-sided tape, considerably meet your needs that install to different kinds of interior doors, exterior doors, walls, windows, cupboards, glass, etc. Draw the cat door frame on a paper board and cut it down. Note: You had better prepare these necessary tools first, pencil, ruller, electric saw, drill, screwdriver, double-side tape. Use a pencil draw around the edge of the cut paper on the door you want to be fixed to. Note: Generally, average installation height is around 10-15 cm from the floor. Drill 4 corners for thorough holes first with an electric drill. Cut out the tunnel hole with an electric saw starting at holes drilled. After the tunnel hole is cut out, it's better to wrap around it with a layer of wood skin. And if your hole is cutting a little big, it's quite neccessary. If the cat door is too thick for your door, use a scissors or cutting machine to cut down some part of tunnel along the line A or B. The cutting scale is about 2-4CM. Mount the cat door with double-side tape to the door. 8 screws for 4 holes on both sides, screw them all in 2 sides as illustration shown above, please. These 8 screws are designed to work together, they are not short. Place screw caps over the screw holes, press them on. The installation is completely done. Just got it today and installed it, so I cannot speak to its longevity. Should it break in a short time, I will update the review. I can see the plastic door getting scratched up after a while as a distinct possibility, but frankly, how is that supposed to be prevented? We wanted one with the ability for the cats to see through, so unless you want one with an opaque swinging door, I think you are just going to have to assume that over time, the clear plastic will have visible scratches and smudges. Right now it's perfect (just installed) but I will come back with an update as to how long it took before it got scratched up (I'm just assuming it's going to happen.) Install was super easy for me, just a drill, drill bit, screwdriver and jigsaw. The thickness of my door was perfect for it, and mine are standard doors, so most people should be OK. I think these are 2 3/8" doors... I THINK! So I didn't have to cut down the plastic at all, but I can see how that would be obnoxious and hard to do, so I got lucky, but not really. Like I typed earlier, these are designed to fit standard thickness doors, and it did. I did not use the wood strip they recommend getting (not included), nor did I use double sided tape. When I cut the door, I cut it on the small side (so I thought), and it turns out it was super-duper snug but not actually too small. I was actually afraid it might be pinching it to the point where I would not be able to fit the second piece, but I got lucky and it fit so tight that I didn't bother to remove it and use the other items. I didn't see the point. If in a little while I notice it starts to get loose, I'll update, but at that point, that will be my fault, as I am admitting I didn't fully follow the instructions (yeah...lazy, I know). My only complaint, even though I am giving it five stars, is that the screws you get are soooo soft, that you want to make sure you use a screwdriver and not a power drill to install them. I barely touched the screws with the drill and it stripped the heads. I was able to salvage it and make it work, but the last 6 I put in by hand, with a screwdriver, without incident. Use the right size screwdriver too or you might have an issue. The 4-way mechanism is straightforward, seems like it will be durable (I'll update as needed), and it doesn't take a lot of effort to push it open, so even little cats and kittens can do it once they are trained. I would recommend, and I like that it comes in white because I think black on my doors would look funny. ... show more

The cat door arrived quickly. That was nice. But it was difficult to install following the instructions. Also there was wrap wood skin and double sided tape to help install it and there was none of either in the box. I do confess that I was replacing a door that the flap had been destroyed so it didn't fit exactly right, but it works. It was just difficult to make sense out of some of the instructions, but it is in place. I do like the covers that go over the screws so they would not rust from the weather. The door looks very nice, clean and white. The product is nice. ... show more

These doors are perfect!! Used them to put in an outdoor bench for the stray kitties. One on each end so there's 2 entrances/exits. Im holding the one side open until they figure out the shelter is for them.

Angus Theodore Hicks O.K. (Office Kitty) gives it a big thumbs up! Constantly frustrated, waiting for hoomans to open the door so he could visit the service techs in their break room, perform mousing duty, etc, and then return to his office for nourishment, bathroom duties, pampering, and naps in his climbing tower, Angus clearly needed the situation corrected! Concerned that vermin would be allowed to roam freely on weekends, when he was jailed inside the main office, Angus convinced management to make an "investment" and perform mild demolition to the wall between the office and the storage/break rooms. Having supervised the installation process VERY CLOSELY, he can assure future purchasers that if his office workers could manage to install it correctly, well, that should speak to the difficulty level. Within a couple of hours, he had trained the door to open with a firm head bump, his sense of freedom was overwhelming, and the ability to "up" his exercise routine to include high speed dashes throughout the various rooms and offices also led to much deeper and satisfying naps! The ultimate joy was when he was able to "play" with an unwary employee who came in Saturday morning, still a bit groggy, perhaps a little forgetful of the new "door", and woefully unprepared for a large black object to come hurtling out of the wall at him. No longer were employees forced to peer through glass, longing to give Angus his morning pettings....he could be right there, with nary a few second delay between the time they open the entry door until he launched onto their laps! Clearly, this new portal was a great benefit to Angus's fellow workers, who no longer are forced to miss even a few minutes of his attention and loving! Angus assures all shoppers that the true value of this door is a steal at even ten, twenty, dare we say even thirty times the current price! His ONLY concern is that it appears the door can "accidentally" lock...as happened recently when one of the hoomans appeared to be interviewing a new employee. This clearly could be corrected by simply tearing that defective lock button out, which would guarantee Angus's participation in vetting potential new hires. Luckily, the hooman was eventually able to figure the lock out and restore operation, but it was too late this time, as the potential hiree had already left, but maybe with more training, the office people too could be trained on how to operate the lock CORRECTLY! ... show more

Beware: If replacing a 2022 purchased CEESC Large Cat door, a 2026 CEESC Xtra Large cat door is required. Well, designed, and good materials. Installation is straightforward. Just disappointing service life w/2 Tabbys over 3yrs. Would have preferred to pay more for more durability. However, my 2022 CEESC Large Cat door facing the South East (shade in afternoon) with large roof overhang, succumbed to Texas sun after 3 yrs. White plastic turned chain smoker yellow, and the clear panel door started sun cracking. Magnet required regluing once, and fuzzy seal around the door required more substantial adhesive, in lieu of snap it as it stops snapping back after a period. The original failed within 1st year. Wanting a simple quick replacement, I ordered a replacement (from my 2022 order history) - a CEESC Large Cat Door this time in black - naively believing the replacement Large would be the same as the original large. Ha! Now the Xtra Large size is closer to the original 2022 Large. In 2022 the description has overall dimensions, now it's spec'd in inside dimensions. Be nice is both were included for reference. The 2026 model seems to be capable of improved durability, but sun shielding probably remains warranted. Have reordered a Xtra Large for replacement to avoid more carpentry that might be necessary w/other manufacturers. ... show more

I’ve got several fosters who are BIG chonkies. Their litter room is in the basement and we use this so they can get in and out of that room and another for them to get to the catio. Even my largest girl fits through with ease. The magnets are nice and strong so the wind doesn’t push it open but the cats can get in and out with ease. Sturdy.
