Since my Sony cd player died I've been looking for a reasonable substitute to play my extensive collection of older cd's. Tried the hang=on=the wall one -- terrible Then I found this player and it is just perfect. It doesn't take up a lot of room. The sound is decent for the price. Good fm radio reception and is easy to use. Since I use it at night for go to sleep music I have found that the LED blue light is so bright I've had to wear an eye mask. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.

Well! Let me start out saying if they had a minus 1 for this radio that’s what I would give! I will start out with value for your money-there isn’t ANY! The case itself has got to made from the cheapest grade of plastic the manufacturer could find. If you purchase this do not drop it even on the ground. It will most probably go into several pieces, not to mention dropping on a solid surface! There will be nothing left if it. That covers the casing, now onto the size and led screen. The led screen is useless, barely lights up, if you really want to see the screen you have to turn the radio up so the screen is facing you, good luck with that! Size? Hum? Let me see, its oval shape, 10 inches length, 8inches width, 4 inches height, no boom box here! No on/off switch! You have to continually hit a button and try to see the screen so you get to the right program you want! Keep in mind your hitting the button while you have the radio turned up to see the screen! You need both hands just to turn it on!!!! FUN! Now to the buttons! They are on the top of the radio along with the cd player. You can see them but they are flat and you you need to pay attention to what you are doing to get to the right button. Onto SOUND, can we say in a bucket, the speaker’s are in the sides, but the quality of the speakers reminds of the old am handheld radios of years ago, I’m not sure they didn’t have a better sound quality. There is a lot of crackle, pop and static going on. ELECTRIC PLUG, it’s in the back on the bottom, you have to push this in extremely hard, I was concerned I would push in to far and pop the plug in part inside the radio, good news I didn’t! I wish I could find a good thing with this radio, wait a minute! I did get it turned on! There you go, I could come up with something positive! I am an avid believer in reviews and would not have purchased this had most of the reviews been negative, they were not. This item is way overpriced, I received a gift card from my son and thought this would be nice. Unfortunately shame on me I feel like I wasted 50.00! I have given this review to be as helpful and honest as possible.

UPDATE. After seeing my review, the seller reached out to me, apologized and offered a refund. For that, I am increasing the rating to 3 stars. Solely for the customer service. I appreciate the apology and the refund, however it still does not improve the quality or functionality of the boombox. Original review: This boombox sounds terrible. We bought it several months ago and I wanted to give it a fair shot before writing a review. We use it every day. We wanted a mid range boombox so my toddler can listen to her cds. It’s slow to respond when you push the buttons. When you turn it off, there is a constant high pitched humming that will drive you crazy if you sit too close to it. I have to unplug it to not be bothered by it. CDs that are in perfect condition will skip and stutter. Not worth it at all. Now looking to spend more money on a higher quality one because the issues with this boombox outweigh it’s one saving grace- the ability to play cds. A total disappointment. Strongly recommend that you buy something else.

Now I know that not many people use radios nowadays but I’m old fashioned. I was born in the early 80’s and grew up when radios were a thing. Sometimes old habits die hard. Anyway. There’s absolutely nothing old fashioned about this radio. It has Bluetooth connectivity which is what I use majority of the time. I connect it to my iPhone or iPad and stream my music. You can connect your phone using a USB or AUX cord. If you don’t feel like streaming you can use the CD player section LOL….yes I still have tons of cd’s saved from back in the days. The regular radio features: fm and am dial bands. Overall super easy to easy. Lots of different functionalities. The sound quality is good. It has a remote as well!! The only weird thing is that when I use the remote to turn up the volumes-it changes the light color on the LED lights that I have in my room. Great gift idea.
