To clear up some ambiguous and conflicting information about these tarps, here is what I discovered after receiving my 8x10 tarp. - The description says the tarps lose 6 inches per side due to processing/hemming. I misinterpreted this. When they say 'per side', it is per *every* side, so you lose 6 inches on the left, 6 on the right, 6 on top, and 6 on the bottom. Basically, subtract a foot from each *dimension*. 8x10 is actually 7x9. - The white tarp is not truly white. It's kind of a beige. I guess it's whiter than the standard tarp color so it's considered 'white'. - although the examples of use state that it can be used indoors or outdoors, there is a big sticker on it that says 'OUTDOOR USE ONLY', but I think that is a liability thing. It smells kind of oily and I suppose it would make a great firestarter, but for my purposes it is fine indoors in an unfinished area. Also, another sticker says that in California this tarp can cause cancer, whereas in other states I guess it's pretty safe to use. Be sure to see a physician if you ever bring your tarp to the beaches of LA. ... show more

I ordered one of the 10 X 8 dropclothes, but after opening it found out it was about a foot short of the advertised measurement. Mine measured 9 feet, 3 inches by 7 feet, 6 inches. So if you really need the exact size of 10 x 8, you may have to look elsewhere. Also, mine arrived wet, and I don't mean water-wet, it seemed to have been sprayed with some kind of chemical. I recommend wearing gloves when first handling this product. ... show more

This fits perfectly on the boom of my sailboat (when docked) to shield from the sun and rain. So far it's lasted for months and I'm satisfied. I sprayed some waterproof stuff on it, so not sure if it would have been waterproof otherwise, but it has been waterproof, and stiff enough to have withstood some nasty weather. ... show more

They are heavy duty and the grommets don't seem like they will pull out from the fabric anytime soon. When you get these, you will see a printed notification that these are for outdoor use only. I needed to use one of these inside and quickly found out why these should be used outside - they smell awful. I put it outside (fully unfolded) and let it off-gas for about a week and then it was noticeably better. ... show more

The tarp we received was 7'6" by 9'2" - so did lose more than the 6 or 7" expected, but this doesn't matter for our purposes. I did dock a star for that - if it had been 9'5" I would have made it 5-stars since for the money it appears good quality with good hemming. The tarp we received is white with matching white stitching. Yes - it does smell like a tarp meant for outdoor use and the packaging does state for Outdoor Use Only. Bought this tarp to cover the deck and skylight on the bow of my boat during the rainy season. Great weight, stitched well and didn't allow any water to get inside my boat. Much better than a plastic tarp, no rusling in the wind, tearing and more asthetically pleasing.
