Works Great—Caught Two Mice the First Night

I bought these traps to deal with mice in the shed in my backyard, and it worked better than I expected. I set it up in the evening, and by the next morning, the trap had already caught two mice. I especially like the clear plastic window on top because I can quickly check whether a mouse is inside without opening the trap. The metal box feels sturdy and reusable, and the traps are simple to set up. They’re also much cleaner and more convenient than traditional mouse traps. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend them.

Easy to use and effective.

I have used this product for years when mice are present in my living area. As my neighborhood is rural, mice are always around. Usually they stay outside, in my garage, and in the basement, but occasionally find their way upstairs. As there is a very active Aussie here, snap traps aren’t an option. A few sunflower seeds suffice as bait. The mice are easily caught . I have never used the glue traps, nor will I ever .

Trap springs are too weak. Mice are able to enter and exit.

We live in a high-altitude desert and have an elderly neighbor who loves feeding the world's birds. Pounds of bird seed = pounds of mice. Over the past 12 years, I've not had any failures with this type of trap (though my old ones are from a different maker). We use them outside around the perimeter of our house and in our garage. I put a dash of peanut butter in the center and either catch a mouse or the peanut butter remains. We never have issues with any other animal (ant, lizard, or other). Unfortunately, with the new traps (these CatchMaster traps purchased through Amazon), I put a dash of peanut butter inside and placed all three around the house. In all three cases, over the course of 2 nights, the peanut butter was gone from each trap but no mice were caught. So all three had a mouse get in, eat the peanut butter and be able to get out! Since we never had a single escape from our previous traps, zero for 3 is unimaginably bad odds. This product simply does not work. The concept does, as my old traps (again, from another maker) did work. But obviously, this company is all about using cheaper and less material to save cost. They reverse-engineered a good product into such a bad product, they now have to include glue traps! If we wanted to catch/kill mice on glue traps, we would have just purchased glue traps! Unbelievable. I wish I had read these reviews first. All 3 traps have been returned.

Great Trap, Not So Great Sticky Pads!

So the product is designed well and fairly priced! However, the glue pads do NOT work. Luckily the trap caught the mouse & it wasn’t able to get out because it definitely ate & pooped all over the sticky trap and was ready to leave but couldn’t since the doors trapped it in! Now I have to do something I didn’t want to do, which is release it because if this thing slip out, I will faint lol Update: I caught 2 more mice with a trap! Although the sticky pads aren’t good quality, the trap is definitely top tier! They aren’t able to get out once that “door” closes. Hopefully, all the mice are gone because I truly love my home. I didn’t know the mice came with the purchase, BUT with these traps, I feel confident with knowing I will be able to enjoy my new home without worrying about a house mouse and its cousin! Lol

Hope fizzled...

It works until it doesn't. And the reason it stopped working is because the springs don't spring anymore. The first night there were six trapped inside! The next night there were three. And then there were none trapped inside. It was frustrating because I kept putting treats inside and doing the same thing but then I realized that the springs stopped springing up. So when the mice would go in the springs would stay down and they could get in and out. I'm so disappointed. I did tape cardboard over the clear plastic lid so that my chickens couldn't peck through it. I hope that the company addresses this issue. What a shame.

Better than my cat...and she's a beast

A local pest expert recommended these. Let me tell you, they work! While it’s a little more expensive than alternative styles, it more than pays for itself with the number of mice it can catch as well as how long the trap lasts. Some tips... -Definitely get the clear top ones as opposed to the ones that are all metal so you can see what’s going on in there before you pick it up and open it! -There’s a mechanism to let mice and but not out and I haven’t had any issues with mice escaping so I’m not sure how necessary the sticky pads are. If you have a smart mouse you might need to use them but I would rather catch and release away from my house so I tend to avoid them altogether. Bonus- the sticky pads actually work well for catching spiders, crickets, and other insects in a damp basement! -Dry bait (think trail mix) and peanut butter have worked really well. Peanut butter can get pretty messy when mice get in there and strew it all around so I ended up gluing a bottle cap inside to keep the peanut butter contained. -I clean/disinfect with odoban once in a while. It also helps to keep the hinges clean (i.e.) keeps the traps working. -And just in case you’re wondering…they work for rodents up to the size of a small chipmunk.

Works fantastic! Caught (4) mice within (2) days - (2) mice in each of the (2) traps I set. Effective and well designed. After reading some reviews, I added tape of the hinge seam to keep the seam extra tight to insure a mice can’t escape through it. I used a fig Newton bar with peanut butter and Nutella on it as bait. The bait is more appealing than typical snap trap bait. Its convenient that the mice can live in the traps for a few days. I don’t have to worry forgetting to check a trap find it decomposing mouse. I don’t use the stick pads, they are not needed.
