We have three indoor cats who have started sharpening their claws on our couch. I was happy to get this scratching post to help them find better things to scratch on. When I read the description, I breezed by the dimensions and expected a typical puny scratching post. This post is much more substantial and should give them plenty of scratching space. It arrived in pieces, but assembly is straightforward and easy to do. Everything is very durable except for the attached cat toy. The elastic was destroyed by the cats on day one of use. My cats were very suspicious of it and avoided it until I sprinkled some catnip on it. If your cats ignore you might try this too. I am pleased with this scratching post and hope it lasts and entertains the cats for a long time.

I have a number of scratching poles and pads for my cats and all of them do get used. This particular scratching post has the virtue of being both tall and fairly fat (large diameter) so that is a big plus. It was easy to put together (5 minutes or so), and so far is quite stable in use. My other sisal scratching posts use fatter ¼-inch rope while this one uses rope that is less than 1/8-inch in diameter. The fatter rope is coarser, rougher, much like sheets that have a low thread count. But I knew this going in so no star deduction.

I have had so many different scratching posts over the years and this is by far the larger ever! It is almost 3 ft tall which works well for my cats to scratch up the post which they love to do! In fact, I have even had 2 cats scratching on it at the same time from different sides as the post is about 6 inches in diameter. My 1 year old cat even does hit and run scratches on it when she has the zoomies! I have notices that this has also cut down on the number of inappropriate scratching my cats have done! 2 Thumbs Up and at 6 Paws as well!

In my life there are two cats. One is very small, all of six pounds, and is built just like a miniature panther. The other is nearly 30 pounds and is black-and-white. I call him my "cow cat." I have regular sized scratching posts that they use frequently, but I noticed that Cow Cat has to almost hunch to use it. So... I could not pass this one up! Easy to assemble, it looks good and should let Cow Kitty stretch out and enjoy himself when scratching for a change. Naturally, of course, when I wanted a photo, they weren't at all interested (too much going on around here), but I can see that this is a much better fit for a large, economy-sized cat. The way it's built, it should last a good, long time, too. Recommend.

This scratching post was super simple to put together. Six screws in total and everything just spun into one another. It also comes with an allen-wrench, to tighten. Took all of 5 minutes to assemble. I believe that my cats will enjoy using this and I am hoping to get them to use this instead of my couch. The size is great; it is very tall, which is good for me since my cats are quite large. The fur on the bottom is very soft and the 'scratch' material is very rough, which will likely work well to dull down their nails. I am excited to see my cats use this scratcher!

These are the best for grown cats. Most scratches they sell in stores are like 12" high, cats be like...where's the sofa. This is 32" tall with about a 15" square base for stability. Now, they will still occasionally knick it over, but they love these. This particular scratcher is round with thin sissal rope like many condos have. Durability will depend on use and aggression (11 cats). This comes in 2 sections you bolt together with a fuzzy disc in between. I added the disc, but it definitely works without if you decide to skip it. Easy to assemble, worth the cost.
