Rec'd Boots Today, & FYI I chose to listen to the Reviewer's take on the sizing instead of going w/Amazons size recommendation & the reviewers take was spot on-that being they run a little large in length & a little narrow. My foot measures 10.5 & they tend to be a little on the wide side of the spectrum BUT I don't normally go w/a wide size when I make a Shoe/Boot purchase - it depends on the make. So going by the Reviewers take on them I went with a 10.5 Wide & they fit perfect-just the right length & width. There is plenty of room in the toe box just so You know. I did run into 2 problem's with them that several Reviewers mentioned that being at the base of the tongue there was an uncomfortable bulge where the tongue is sewn to the foot part of the boot-but only on the left foot not the right 1. My 1st thought was to send them back but after looking at it I just reached in the boot & made sure the overlapping flap of the tongue where it was sewn was pushed flat & that took care of the "bulge" that was hurting My foot. I read where 1 Reviewer had cut the flap part off but I didn't have to. I currently am wearing them & they feel fine & the other thing I have a problem with as another Reviewer had brought up is all the brand advertising that's on them,-way overboard. The simple "Cat" on the tongue of the boot is a plenty all the rest that's on it cheapens the look of the boots IMO. I'm going to wear them inside on the carpet for a Day or so just to make sure but will probably keep them unless a problem arises-if so I will come back & update the review). For now I'm giving 4.5 Stars as they seem to be made well, they look good, & by getting them on sale as things go they are a decent value for price paid. And by the way several reviews stated they were heavy boots, I do not have the same opinion about that, I'd consider them average to lighter weight. 1 more thing I had stated that I ordered 10.5 Wide & while the outside of the box stated wide the tag inside the Boot say M-they fit Me perfectly & I'd say they are on the wider side just not too wide. I got these boots two years ago, just conditioned them for the first time, and they're still going strong. I got them a full size down from my usual (10.5) and they fit well out of the box, now they've become very comfortable. Over all this is a great value, sturdy leather work boots for less than $100 is hard to beat, and I'll buy another pair if mine ever give up the ghost. ... show more

I've had CAT boots for decades (off and on). I was looking forward to this pair and bought them in my usual size (13). When I tried them on, I thought they were somewhat tight, but would stretch. I have spent the last three months trying to stretch them out. I've worn them for hours with larger socks, walked them dry two different times. While walking them dry has helped, they are still too tight in the toe box. Turns out that a 13 is too small. A 13 wide probably would have been better to a 14. I wish I could have tried on a 13 wide or 14 before settling on this pair. Unfortunately, because boots have to be broken in and this is mail order business, there really is no way to find out if they are the right size until you can't return them. My advice is to be sure the boots fits well right out of the box, with only minimal pinching. There will be some give, but not a whole lot and after a lot of time, effort, and discomfort. I also ran into trouble with the boot tongues. The left boot tongue would not stop slipping to the side. I eventually ended up drilling two holes in the boot, between the lace hooks, and sewing a sturdy thread to the side of the boot from the tongue. Give me a break. And the insoles are crap. I replaced them immediately with a $10 pair and the fit was much, much better. Negatives aside, the boots are very handsome; although some of the color has faded due to me walking the boots dry. I think I am going to bite the bullet and get a pair of Drew's Rowdy workboot. They're about $400, but the fit and comfort is guaranteed, and they are some handsome looking boots.
