  • tough for value. functional.
Size: 10 Color: Dark Brown
I bought this boot on sale 21 mos ago and retired them today. It outperformed previous Carolina pair that cost twice as much. They lasted 13 to 16 mos of daily farming and construction (0 to 90 deg. F., wet, dry, manure and urine, chemicals etc.) 4 weeks of occasional foundry work did more damage to the boot than the rest combined, most notably to the leather. the extra months beyond were my cheapness more than their greatness. hay season finally broke the uppers and they filled with Clay and cement this last week of foundation work. I give it 5* because the joints between materials outlasted the materials themselves; as much as i could ask from any boot. traction excellent, held up to a 9 / 12 metal roof job. distance walking comfort good as entry level boots go, but I'm mostly on gravel dirt grass mud wood not concrete and asphalt. cons (nitpicking mostly): largest concern: inners broke at heel in half a year (photo 3 is final state) I think from wearing them laced low and loose occasionally. my new boots have a leather patch here and it's probably worth the extra cost. it was kind of silly going for a year with torn inners when the rest of the boot is fine. second largest: branding: I'm suspicious of anybody who writes their name on something 5 times. i pay for a boot, pay me if you want a billboard. even above the cuff i almost painted it all out. otherwise I appreciated the traditional styling. speed lace fixtures are thin and after caught + bent once it keeps happening. i had to plier repair them a handful of times. the welting strip cracked at bend points on both shoes early, but that seam is still strong, so only a minor point. laces had to be replaced with Kevlar. Stock ones are functional but not great. disintegrated by 1 year. to sum up: the critical things (out-sole, upper, and their connection) weren't cheapened but money was saved where it could be. On sale it was definitely the best value (bang for buck) multipurpose work shoe I've owned. I didn't purchase again but that was my own curiosity more than anything. ... show more

  • Substantial work boot--needs breaking in
Size: 8 Color: Dark Brown
Full disclosure: even though I'm a woman, men's boots almost always fit me better. This is mostly because I have a high arch, and men's boots that are the right size have room for an arch support, but most women's boots don't. Men's boots also have a little more room in the toe box, which I like. I was looking for a work boot for the yard, some light construction and those chores you need to do in knockaround boots. I ordered these, the Corax and the women's Lander. These boots are a traditional, substantial, heavy work boot. They do not have a steel toe or shank, but the thickness and stiffness of the leather will offer plenty of protection under most conditions. The shaft laces over the ankle and will give a lot of support at times when footing is uncertain. The boot fits true to size, for me anyway. The sole, stitching, finish and overall quality were terrific. In many ways, these were the boots I thought I was looking for, and if I was going to be wearing them every day they would probably have been the ones I kept. The reason I didn't keep them is because I'm *not* going to wear them every day. These boots are stiff enough to need breaking in--the kind you can only do if you're wearing them every day. I need a pair that are comfy out of the box, since I will only wear them on the weekends. But if you wear your boots every day, these will probably take a week or so to break in comfortably across the ball of your foot and around the ankle--the bendy places. I wore them about an hour and they were already a bit more flexible. In case you are wondering, I surprised my self by opting for the women's boot (the Lander) as a work boot. But even more surprising was the Corax--one of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I literally did not want to take them off. I'm keeping them as well. (I'll review both of the other pairs.) Thanks, Caterpillar! A few days ago I didn't even know you MADE boots. ... show more

Size: 12 Color: Tan
To start since 2019 this is only yhey 6 th review I have ever .done.A product really has to be special for me to write a review. These boots are on a different level and to every one who helped make them, great job !!! I have been hard on my body and sitting still is a luxury I know nothing about. In the last 12 yrs I have had to purchase 3 to 4 pairs of boots every yr and was Bbdue to stitching coming apart, bottoms wearing out and rips and tears.Average cost $65-$85 per I have had these boots for almost 14 months now and I rather wear these boots over any of my other shoes.Finaly if you are going to have fun keep it natural and just be yourself. These are hands down the best boots I've ever worn . ... show more

  • Amazing boots
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Tan
These felt way more comfortable than I expected. They keep my feet warm and dry, and I really love the soft padded rim around the ankle—it adds an extra touch of comfort. Nice, stylish, and practical boots for snowy days. Definitely recommend!

  • Tough, well made boot,
Size: 9 Wide Color: Dark Brown
This is my second pair of Cat boots. The first pair took forever to break in , but the boot eventually got comfortable. and lasted about 4 -5 years. This second pair though, was comfortable right away. They reduced the number of eyelets and have less lace hooks and they go on and off faster. They are comfortable. Both pairs were well made with very durable soles that will give you long service. Will buy again...if I live long enough!! ... show more
