Like a lot of people I was skeptical at first about this mat being water proof but I took a chance and brought 1 in. We have 4 cats. 2 boys and 2 girls, and we live in an area where there are many feral cats around. 1 of my male cats will not squat to pee in a box no matter what I have tried. What he does is stand in front of the box opening and let loose. He doesn't always aim well so I needed a mat that would prevent urine leakage into my hardwood and carpeted floors. After 30 days trying out this mat, I was impressed by how well it works, not only to keep my floors fairly litter free, but the urine has not leaked through the mat bottom. I have already purchased a second one last month and am purchasing 2 more today. Pros: 1) This mat is waterproof---I check mine twice a day when I clean the boxes. If urine is left to sit on the mat it will start to smell and will eventually seep through the mat to the floor. I have not experimented to see how long this would take. 2) It does cut down on the tracked litter by 95% 3) I have witnessed my cats laying on the mat in front of the box so it must be comfortable. 4) Super easy to clean. Handles on each end allow for easy pick-up. The top is connected to the bottom piece by Velcro so they are easy to pull apart. When I need to clean the mat, I shake out the litter, spray a baking soda & water solution on the mat, let sit for 5 minutes, rinse off with cold water outside from the hose, and let dry about 2 hours in the sun. Cons: The mat will have fold lines when you take it out of the package however, once the litter box is on the mat there is not a problem as the box pushes the mat flat. Overall, this is the best mat I have found that actually works as advertised! 6-4-2025: My oldest cat has trouble getting in and out of a box now and I found he was peeing on the outside of the box. Thank God for these mats! I now use a Wee-Wee puppy training pad, size 22"x22" inside the mat.

We have five cats and I put these mats in front of two of our litter boxes. They’ve been doing a great job catching the litter that normally ends up tracked all over the floor. With five cats, they definitely get a workout! 😂 I can already see that I’ll need to empty them soon, which honestly shows me just how much litter they’re actually catching. I really like that the litter gets trapped in the mat instead of scattered around the room. So far, I’m very happy with them!

This mat works really well for catching litter. It collects on the second layer, so all I have to do is pick it up and dump it out. Super easy! The only downside is that it’s hard to clean when it gets wet, since the litter kind of sticks. It also slides around a little on my kitchen floor when my cats run over it, but overall it’s still the one of the best mats I’ve tried.

Sick of f a k e reviews and chemical-smelling product. Ordered 2 initially, now 2 more. Was freaked out at first because when I opened the plastic I got a quick whiff of that all-too-familiar ammonia smell...BUT it only lasted a second upon opening. I was about to put it back in and send it right back, but it IMMEDIATELY stopped smelling like that AT ALL. Having read previous reviews, I immediately put them holes down on the rug & put 2 full 40lb boxes of litter on top for 24 hours to flatten them straight. They've been in use for a couple weeks now & I'm pretty shocked at how clean it keeps everything. No matter what kind of mats I used before, there was still a mess and something always went wrong (like it made them want to pee on it, litter would get stuck, hard to clean, etc). This is genius! Not TOO soft where it won't work, but just about an exercise mat firmness (poss 1 step firmer?)...NOT "hard" as some have stated. All my cats at the moment are male, but they are the diva-est of all cats and if there were a problem they would indeed let me know, and have not. It is just the perfect firmness where it wouldn't hurt their feet (or bother them at all), but just right to jar the litter off, which disappears into the holes. All you do is once in a while lift it up with the handles (both sides are open where the handles are) and dump the litter back into the box. I got the biggest one, because we have a couple "jumpers." Don't forget, only put the edge under the litterbox so you have the mat covering the biggest amount of space the cats step on (not wasting a lot of unused mat under the box). We have the "Modkat Flip" litter boxes (2 pack...another splurge that ended up being worth it, especially if you have a high pee-er) got those DIRECT from the company's site), so it has super high sides and directs them out one way onto the big mat, which also helps. This is more than I've ever spent on litter mats (and got FOUR now) but never underestimate the value & happiness of being able to walk around without that litter grit on the floor. It is happiness!

This litter mat does its job, but it didn’t really impress me. On the positive side, it definitely reduces the amount of litter being tracked around the house. I keep it right outside the litter box, and most of the litter that would normally end up across the floor gets caught on the surface of the mat. Cleaning isn’t too difficult either, I usually just pick it up and shake it out, and if it needs a deeper clean, rinsing it under water works fine. So functionally, it does help with keeping the litter mess more contained. That said, the quality isn’t what I expected. The material feels thin and a bit flimsy compared to other mats I’ve had, and when it first arrived it was folded up tightly in the packaging. Because of that, it has a big crease that still hasn’t gone away, even after laying it flat for weeks. It doesn’t sit perfectly flat on the floor, which is annoying because litter sometimes slides underneath instead of staying on top. The crease also makes it look kind of cheap in my setup. I also noticed the mat doesn’t grip the floor very well. It tends to shift a little when my cat jumps out of the litter box, so I find myself adjusting it back into place often. It hasn’t completely slid across the room or anything dramatic, but it doesn’t feel as secure or sturdy as I’d like. Overall, this is an “okay” mat. It does catch litter and is easy to clean, so if you just need something inexpensive and temporary, it’ll work. But if you’re looking for something that feels higher quality, sits flat without creases, and stays in place better, I’d probably spend a little more on a sturdier mat. This one just feels cheap, and I’m not sure how long it will hold up with daily use.

Cat litter mats are such a game changer for us. It is great to not have gritty litter all over the floor. These are nice and large and being able to pick it up and dump the litter easily is really nice. They are durable and thick.

Good for catching cat litter as the cat leaves the litter box, only down side is its not as simple to empty as it seams and hair gets cought up in it ALOT. and any accidents will require a good scrubbing.
