I bought this for our cat who is about 12 lbs. She loves it! It’s the perfect size for her. She likes being in a covered space and this works very nicely for her. My three girls were initially curious about this cozy den, but didn't stay in it long until I added a drop of valerian extract in the center of the pad (valerian smells like a vile combination of musty basement and funky feet - a little goes a long way - but most cats love it more than catnip). The bottom is only a thin piece of material and will need to be placed on a firm surface for proper support. The cushion is only about 1/2" thin, which some cats prefer, but if yours prefers something more cushy, you'll need to add supplemental cush. However, this item is relatively small (about 18" square) and innocuous in appearance. Dispite its size, there is plenty of room for my average sized cats (~10 lbs). Larger animals over 20 lbs will have trouble fitting (note that cats often prefer a tight fit, especially in cold rooms as it's easier to keep smaller spaces warm with just body heat). I will post an update when I wash the cushion as this is where most of these pet beds fail. That said, for the moment I recomend this little den as it is inexpensive, attractive, and functional. WASHING UPDATE I have washed the pad (not the entire hut) twice since purchase. Both times I used a normal cycle and let it circulate freely in the wash tub. However, I used the shortest wash time (I have 3 settings) and did not let it run the whole cycle: I use an older model washer where the final spin cycle kicks into overdrive to spin out every last drop of water, so I skipped this part thinking it might permanently crease the foam pad. During agitation the foam padding gets folded up inside the covering (this worried me the first time). But after spinning out the water I was able to unfold it fairly easily, making sure all the corners lined up. The ticking stayed sewn and so far does not show any signs of stress (unlike another cushion which was more expensive and exploded in the wash tub...). I let it air dry indoors instead of using the dryer since the entire thing is of man-made material (was afraid the heat would damage it); it's so thin that it took less than 4 hours (depending on ambient humidity). So far it's worked great for me and my girls (although they still need the valerian to entice them inside - go figure) and seems to have lots of washes left in it. YMMV, of course. ... show more

I bought this for my 6 pound Chihuahua so she can hang out with me when I’m working in my home office during the week. She has another one that’s in our bedroom and one in our living room, which are both from other companies and they are made really well with nice thick bottoms. This one is not a thick bottom at all. It’s a quarter of an inch overall thick but you can push on it ever so lightly and feel the floor on the other side. so put a 6 pound Chihuahua on it and they’re gonna feel the floor. Because the price point was perfect and the fast delivery, so it was here for Monday morning, I ended up putting a small fleece throw blanket in the bottom. Our Chihuahua loves to borrow under blankets and she absolutely loves these little houses that have a top on them. Because she has a small dog syndrome they make her feel safe from us big tall humans. If you buy this, please put something else in the bottom to allow your pets to be comfortable. My cat is a long and lean 7 lbs. Tamale loves this bed 😻 The Petmaker indoor cat bed is really gorgeous. Tamale went in it immediately. If you have pets that like these self warming beds, or that prefer a secure space- this is that bed. ✅ The plush outer walls are sturdy and thick. It stands up well and doesn’t cave in. It was good right out of the vacuum pack after a few shakes. The material is soft to the touch. I’ve enclosed photos- one with Tamale sleeping in it. She rates it 10 🐾 The other photo shows it from the top- you can see how even the sides are from an aerial view. The fleece material is soft and high quality. The grey color is a medium grey- not light or dark. The stitching and craftsmanship are well done. ✅ 1 ‣ The bed came vacuum packed- so it was flat and not crushed. When I opened it - I shook it and it was perfect. No sag at all. The "walls" are thick and sturdy, as is the pad that goes inside for the cat to lay on. 2 ‣ I covered the removable inner pad with a folded plush blanket so it doesn’t get furry because machine washing that pad in the machine will move the inner foam around. I’ve had one before. Believe me. 3 ‣ I’m glad the bed is machine washable- will do that as needed and allow it to air dry. 4 ‣ Can’t say enough good things about this bed. If you’re on the fence, get it. Just remember that the pad for laying on shouldn’t be machine washed - but the bed can be. Your pets will love this bed. ... show more
