I purchased this for a cat that had dental surgery and needed to have his mouth protected from his feet. It worked great. He was beyond miserable in a traditional plastic cone. He wasn’t aggressively trying to reach his mouth, but this was wide enough and firm enough to protect him. It washed up well when he drooled and got food on it. It’s not water proof but somewhat resistant. The neck is adjustable with a buckle to tighten and Velcro to hold it in place. The review asked if it was easy to inflate but it is filled with stuffing so that question is not applicable. I would definitely recommend this collar. ... show more

This was a lifesaver for our cat who had been wearing a cone after being spayed. The cone caused her to feel extremely depressed and stressed to the point where she did not eat or drink on her own unless my husband and I fed her/gave her water manually. A few hours after putting this donut on her, she was visibly much less stressed and was happier being less restricted by the cone. The immediate look of recognition on her face as she realized she could start eating and drinking on her own and even using the litterbox without feeling claustrophobic because of the cone was wonderful to see. I do wish the donut was wider so it could make the surgical stitches less accessible to licking, however, I will say that the donut did make it more difficult for our cat to access them. This, combined with her feeling much calmer, actually helped her stitches to dissolve and heal much faster. This produce truly made such a difference between worrying about our cat accidentally hurting herself due to immense anxiety with the cone and feeling completely comfortable leaving her alone as she was mostly back to her normal, sweet self. ... show more

Buddy has anxiety and habitually licks his belly creating bald patches and irritating his skin. We purchased this to prevent him from licking and it works great! We take it off a few times a day when he is supervised so he can do routine grooming and for his neck to breathe, but he is tolerating it well. I am so pleased with this collar. It uses a buckle and elastic band for tightness adjustment rather than the usual cord on most other collars. I was concerned about my cat getting hung on a cord. This collar alleviates this worry and works well. The cat has freedom of movement and once she adjusted to it used the collar as a pillow. Her surgery was on her tail and the cone kept her from reaching the incision. It was on for 2 weeks and she did not get out of it during that time unlike another collar I tried from which she escaped after the first 10 minutes. I purchased this for my son's 10 month kitten for his neuter. It was a situation where I knew he would likely need it. I was right. He started licking at the vet. The vet put the collar on and said their solid black cat was the prettiest flower. Everyone liked the pattern. My son liked that it's solid, easy to use, and easy to adjust for a very busy kitty. While their cat hated it for the first couple days, he soon was absolutely fine with it after. It didn't slow him down at all and he used it as a pillow every time he slept. This held up very well through the the angry rabbit kicking in the beginning and wall bouncing at the end. This is the first cone/donut that my cat hasn’t been able to escape from. It is also much more comfortable on my cat’s neck due to the fabric lining and strap fastener rather than cord. The only issue I have noticed is that he was able to get the extra portion of the strap into his mouth which then got stuck. I was there to notice but this definitely made my cat panic. I bought this for my kitten. She was getting fixed and I needed a soft collar. This fit her tiny neck well, but as soon as she kicked it, it popped off. So I put it tighter, and again she got out of it. So then I got her collar put it through the hole for the Velcro and was able to finally secure it.
