The rug is soft under your feet, stayes decently in place, only needing an occasional adjustment. It's not a thick rug, very thin actually, so I would imagine a door would easily open and close over it. My vacuum tends to want to get stuck on it so I do have difficulty vacuuming it, but it washes very well. It came close to true to size for me, 4 x 6. The rug comes folded up, so as other reviewers have stated, you will see the creases immediately upon laying on floor. I love that this rug is thick and colorful. The fabric is not hard so you can definitely wash it with the machine if possible. It also lays completely flat and honestly can function in any type of room. The size is absolutely perfect and the rug is not too slippery.

We bought this as a rug to cover old hardwood floors in our foyer. It is the perfect weight and size. We were surprised by how small the packaging was for such a large rug (8 x 10'). The color and softness is very high quality for a washable rug. While we haven't put it in the washer yet, we've found it super easy to spot clean because liquids float on top for a long time before soaking into the rug. We don't need to rub or anything. Paper towel soaks it right up just like on hard floors. Awesome price and quality! It did take a bit of time to get the wrinkles out but vacuuming helped tremendously. ... show more

Reviewers weren't mistaken in saying this rug is soft. I was trying to picture a soft rug this size without sufficient padding before I got it. After I got the rug and put it in place and then walked on it, I was still surprised. It IS SOFT. I'm not sure WHY it is so soft, there's no padding under the rug, but I guess how it is made and what it is made from is the reason. This is a beautiful rug. I wish I had ordered the larger size. I'm very happy with my purchase and I think it will wash well, though I normally steam clean. If you are on the fence about this rug for softness or color reasons, don't let that stop you. The color is exactly like it appears on my monitor for this rug. No variation whatsoever. That's always a plus when I'm purchasing something like this online. I do wish it had the same amount of the yellow/mustard/gold splash on both sides, but overall, this is a win. ... show more

The person who helped me put this rug down on my floor opened the box and asked me if it's a blanket or a rug! It's so amazingly soft. My cat loves laying on it. It's very attractive and high quality. I love it. I'm thinking of getting another one for my bedroom.
