So far so good. After a steady light rain the tarp was not wet and kept the space underneath dry with no leaks. I bought one in each size. Heavy so I bought light, high-quality poles. Very versatile. Pictures show 10x12 tarp under noon Southern California sun in two different configurations. Still comfortable underneath and nice breeze - MUCH cooler than a plastic tarp! UPDATE: while unsupervised my six year old son crashed into the canopy after tripping on the cord. As a result the grommet ripped out of the double stitched canvas where the pole was through the grommet (see pics). Granted that this was an in foreseen occurrence and avoidable in many circumstances, I am lowering my rating by one star because now I am weary of the strength, or rip stop ability of these tarps. In an attempt to figure out a solution I am using bungee balls incorporated into the tie down to relieve some stress on the tarp and give some flex if someone trips on a line. So far so good with the 6x8 tarp (see pics). The 6x8 is small but actually pretty light and could be used for backpacking either the set up shown in pics, given that these tarps are strong enough over time, only time will tell. ... show more

Need a cavas tarp to use for our vehicle rescue operations. Seen some good reviews on this tarp and decided to purchase a couple for our department. Pros: good thickness. No smell to it. Strong canvas material that provides good protection. Very easy to fold and unfold in hot or cold weather. Not to heavy or too bulky. A lot of functional use for our department. Stores easily, don’t have to worry about it getting dirt. Cons: not much for cons, it’s a good canvas material. Overall very satisfied with this purchase and we will buy more when we need more. Works very well for our department and it’s used pretty aggressively and it’s still holding up very well. ... show more
