I’m impressed with Carote pans, so when I saw this knife set by them I snagged it immediately. We honestly disliked the steak knives so much that we put them in our college son’s first apartment “hope chest” because the tang isn’t as strong as expected, they look nice but aren’t as impressive as they should be to be in this set. We sharpened nearly every other knife; they were serviceable but didn’t come with as sharp of an edge as we keep our knives. I love the gorgeous knife block and think it’s a versatile look that would fit into a lot of aesthetics. I really like that there are two sizes of paring knives, as well. Once sharpened, the Chef knife is just as impressive as a nice brand name one that I bought previously. Overall, it is a gorgeous set, but I was slightly let down. I was able to incorporate my own steak knives perfectly, but I would be very upset if I gave this as a gift and thought that all of the knives were up to the brand’s expected quality. Otherwise, it would be an amazing gift, especially as a group gift. I realize that we are very experienced and picky with our knives, so the steak knives may not be an issue to others, but for us, that drops this set to 4-stars.

I’m a fan of the Carote cookware so when I saw they also make this knife set I knew I had to add it to my collection. Let me say these knives are just as wonderful as the cookware! They are an exquisite set to display as well! The neutral colors that coordinate with the cookware are seen all throughout this set from the block to the handles and the silver accents these are super pretty! My favorite feature from this set is the magnetic slots. This makes it super nice when putting them away as the magnetization is on both sides and they grab the knives quickly. Now I don’t have to fight with tiny holes and jabbing the wooden blocks like I’ve had to with others. I just simply slides then it and viola that are in place. You as well can put them anywhere in the block since there aren’t designated holes, which is great as I like my most used knives (the larger knives) up front, most sets those are always in the back. Truly though with this set it’s super easy to remove/put away them that it’s just as easy to grab the knives in the back. The block is nice and solid also, it’s got a nice weight to it so there is no worries about knocking it over nor it sliding on the counter. The block though is still lightweight so even with my weakened muscles I have no problem picking up the blocked and moving the block around. The handles fit great in the hand when cutting. The materials are quality and designed fabulously as even with a hand covered in prepared food these knives don’t slip in the hand at all. Don’t get me started on how magnificent these knives cut either or we will be here all day as they are so sharp they have cut absolutely everything with ease. These knives wash up well also. Best knife set I’ve owned! As I said I could ramble on about this set all day I love it that much!
