Speaker sounds great to me, for my home theater I have Klipsch speakers, now wishing I had two Thump Go speakers to retain stereo sound. Battery use has been minimal so far, so nothing to report outside of it works for my brief uses. Only short coming I have run into is when I feed classical music over XLR through a mixer - it may be the Behringer XR12 I am using or the XLR cable - but below a certain level, sound is lost when the threshold is too low and the amp stops. I still see sound levels at the mixer being sent via main out around -50. However, via bluetooth, the cut-out at low volumes does not seem to happen ever. I am using this while working from home for background music. The single speaker will hurt my ears when turned up sitting 15 feet away or so over bluetooth, or XLR feeds, speaker sitting on carpet tipped as a wedge or on the tripod stand at 5 ft high. Tripod stand works well and is light weight for easy carry, only minor complaint is when I put the speaker on top, I can push downward slightly on the speaker and the clamp for the tripod portion will not hold firm and allow the stand to sink. I can fold up the stand and place it on top of the Mackie speaker bag I bough separately and then Velcro the handles together and carry them both at once.

I found myself this weekend at a water park with my Bluetooth portable speaker, and it just couldn’t compete with the speakers around me. Each picnic table had their larger powered speakers and they overpowered mine. As I walked around I stopped and noticed the Thump Go at a table and man it sounded great. I saw the logo and knew it was a Mackie so I looked it up and found it here. I knew I had to have one. So I just received it today and I’ve been listening to it all day and man it sounds great! The cable and the stand were a nice plus for the same price as the speaker elsewhere. Nice combo guys! The stand really helped me elevate the speaker to ear height and I listened to it mostly in my office during my work day at home. I went through my music library throwing everything at it and all I can say is wow! Honestly will probably buy the second one to get the sounds in stereo. I usually get asked to play music at family parties and use a powered PA speaker system that’s a bit outdated and starting to hiss. I know that this one speaker can handle the gigs and can’t wait to put it to use. Really great product! The highs and lows are balanced just right and the EQ on the app helps adjust if needed. Day 1 and I got about 8 hours of constant play time and the led light turned red to indicate to charge the speaker so not sure how much time it had left. I’m going to put it to the test tomorrow and see if I can really get 12 hours in one charge. 8 hours still plenty of time for a party or BBQ. Connecting is simple, the app is an added bonus for you geeks. Sounds beauty even without the app for those not so tech savvy. I plugged in a wired mic and wireless mic and it sounded awesome. The sound ducking is a cool feature that automatically lowers the music playback when you talk into the mic. I almost had a change of heart and cancelled my order as I experienced some buyers remorse but when it delivered today I just had to plug it in and hear it for myself. So glad I did. Even the wife used it for her workout tonight and she gave me a thumbs up and said it sounds like a club in the house. Salsa, cumbias, country, rock, jazz, big band, classical, alternative, rap, R&B, tejano, you name it, it all sounded amazing! If you’re looking for a small power house speaker that is portable and rugged and that will get the party started look no further. Kudos to the seller again for the price point and throwing in the stand and mic cable. Two thumbs up!

Update: Exchanched the speaker and now it sounds alot better! Still not as good as my Bose S1s but packs a better punch! We have many different speakers but we wanted one that was portable and had a battery. I should mention that we are working DJs so we know what good sound is. I had read really good reviews on this and was excited about getting it. Upon unboxing it and setting it up I listened to it and the sound was horrible! I could not believe how bad it was after I had read reviews saying how good they were. Maybe I got a bad speaker, not sure. Sent it back and the UPS store told me that they were going to charge me the shipping which was about 30 bucks. I was not impressed!

Great home speaker. The Bluetooth connectivity and battery power makes it easy to carry to any of your kids sport activities. This speaker usually sells for $350 by itself, so this is a good value for your money.

These things sound really good for being an 8in speaker. Easy to use, bluetooth and linking together without a cable was very simple. Got these for a drill team to practice with. They have a portable battery built in and still sound amazing without a cord. They are a bit pricey, but the battery/portablilty and clarity are what you are paying for.

These are battery powered speakers that have Bluetooth and xlr 1/4 connectors. Has two channels of plug in connectivity. There are limitations on the eq settings . It could be better. Bass and treble are very limited control. Some pros are u can control master volume from Mackie Iphone app. Cons Sound Quality - Not much bass response as I expected from a mackie speaker. Has clear hi's and mid's Lows are clean not a punch tho. Sound can sound compressed at higher volumes and at time easily over-limit / stop allowing bluetooth. I also notice at higher volume levels lots of signal noise present. For the Functionality 4 out of 5 stars. Needs more eq cobtrol. Quality 5 stars. Mackie did do a good job of build Value for the money I would pay less. Battery life is impressive and lasted 8 hours.
