  • BUY ONE SIZE UP!
6ft tall 180 lbs (usually a size 12 tall in a bootcut pair of jeans) athletic build female and these are the first construction pants that have fit my build the way I would like for work. I first ordered a size 12tall and they strangely gave me a muffin top, were too short, and a bit too snug when squatting. However, the quality seemed nice so I decided to exchange for a size 14 tall and IM SO GLAD I DID! The 14 fits snug just above my waist (I probably don’t need a belt but will still wear one), thighs and butt have the slightly loose but not baggy fit, and the length is a tad shorter than I would like for my work boots but overall acceptable. I am constantly climbing, squatting, and using power equipment all day at work and these seem like they’re going to be very comfortable to move in. The material feels thick, but not stiff and the grey color is really nice. This is not related to these Carhart pants but might be helpful for anyone else on the hunt for a nice pair of women’s construction pants: I tried Dovetail ($160 per pair) and Dickies (comparable $50 price range) pants and both fit so strangely on my body. Somehow they were waaayyy too snug on my thighs, loose in the butt, and not nearly long enough for me. The material was also really stiff on the Dovetail pants specifically. Updating this post after about 7 months of owning these pants. After wearing these pants for a couple months several times a week, the inner thigh area began to have some tilling from my thighs rubbing the material together. I ended up purchasing a tan pair of these same pants and the tan pair has significantly more tilling than the gray, but both pairs I’m worried will eventually get too thin and wear through in the crotch area. I’ve machine dried these pants as well as air dried and here is my two cents: they WILL shrink when machine dried but will eventually loosen back up after wearing. If you air dry them, they are oddly stiff for the first hour or so when wearing. Overall, worth the price even if they need replaced every year! ... show more

  • Runs Large!
I am 5'3" and 128 lbs give or take with a mom belly. I have a straight figure. I am pretty much always a small and a size 6, every now and then a size 4. So, I started with a size 6 in the grey - It was HUGE on me! So, the smallest size I can buy is a 2, so I tried it. The waist was still a little loose and length was still long but I decided to keep them. After a couple washings, they have shrunk and fit just right. If the pant legs were a little more slim and shorter, then they would be perfect, but for now they are some of my favorite pants. I really appreciate the side thigh pockets! I can sit comfortably with my phone in one of those pockets. So far they seem okay for Florida but I haven't endured the summer months yet. As a side note, I tried buying the black pair in a size 2 but when I tried those on, they were too tight.....so I really am unsure about the consistency of Carhartt sizing. I also tried the professional slim pant (different style altogether) and ended up with a size 6 khaki color. I don't like those as much because they are more polyester (hot) and only one side pocket but they do look like a more professional pant - material is kind of shiny. They do fit well - still long on me even though I bought the short version. ... show more

  • Love these!!
These pants are just what I was looking for in them: durable, quality material and stitching and good fit. I got the short version as I'm quite vertically challenged (approx 5ft), so if you're under 5'3" or so I can confirm the length is perfect. Seems to fit true to size in terms of dress size, too. I'm absolutely beside myself with the number of pockets! ... show more

  • Comfortable work pants but sizes are a little small
Size: 16 Short Color: Yukon
These are my ideal work pants. I'm a maintenance tech for an apartment complex and I often have to carry tools in my pockets. These aren't like womens usual pockets where you can't fit anything in them. I can actually fit my phone as well as several hand tools in my back pockets without them falling out. They are light weight which makes these great for the summer but may not be ideal for women that have to work outdoors in colder weather. The pants are loose enough for making it easy to move around but not so baggy that I trip over them. The only cons when it comes to these pants are that they seem to fit smaller than most pants for me. I'm usually a size 14 but these wouldn't fit me at all at that size. I had to get these pants a size larger to wear comfortably. The other issue is that when I ordered the yukon color through Amazon they were a darker color than the ones I had ordered through carhartt's website several months ago. This doesn't really bother me but it may bother other people. The only issue I have with the colors is that the coal color is less gray than I thought it would be and it seems to have a slight purple-blue hint to the color. Again nothing major but I would have preferred a more gray color. I have these pants in every color available and would love if there were more colors offered. ... show more

These fit perfect and are true to brand quality.

  • Not my favorite
Size: 2 Color: Yukon
The fit is definitely lose, I'd say not very flattering, and not that rugged durable quality I'm used to with Carhartt pants. Lots of room for layering with leggings or long johns, I usually wear a size 4 , but went with the size two, perfect in the waist but more hip room then my slim body needs. Im 5'4 and 111lbs and I have to roll the pant legs up. The color is ok. I think I'm being picky but they're not my favorite but will be ok to beat up and get dirty and probably get some holes in fairly quickly. ... show more

  • Very comfy. Not too loose fitting.
Size: 10 Color: Coal
I love these ! Great price (except I had to pay shipping even though I have prime). I bought a second pair as well. Fit comfy. Plenty of room. I’m a little thick waisted so the waistband was the only snug area but it loosened up after wearing a few times. Highly recommend. Look nice for running errands, walking dog, hanging out with friends. True to size. ... show more
