I’ve installed 2 of these on my motorhome and love them. They were easy to install, but you need a 2nd person to assist when sliding the awning into the holder that you’ve attached to the RV. Each awning took me about 1+ hours & I found the instructions east to follow. The awnings provide shade on a sunny day and allow you to have windows open if it rains. Carefree makes great products.

Easy install provides adequate shade. Does help to reduce heat in the camper. Just find the center of your window market with erasable marker find the center of your upper bracket put a piece of 3 1/4 inch trim across your window as a guide for the upper bracket put sealer on the bracket screw it in. Put heavy duty double sided 3M red sticky tape on the arm mounting platt move the awning to its proper location press on bracket put in the screw. It’s literally that simple. You will need two people to install this awning. I went with two awnings, because one of them was only $69 Use like new the other one was full price to $217. Watch a video before installing. Note: When installing the arm, you have to put one screw in the center, then open the awning to put in the rest of the screws.

The instructions could have been a little bit better. Study the pictures. Also they were not printed very clear. Very hard to see, almost like the printer used was low on ink. The awning itself was great. We are now able to leave the window open while it’s raining. Be sure to use some type of silicone sealant on all attachment points on the RV as it not only seals the screw holes but makes for a much stronger attachment. The sheet metal on most RV’s is very thin and unless you manage to hit wood or some other framework in the wall the screws alone may pull right out. Be sure to give the sealant plenty of time to cure. Installation would be a lot easier with two people but I managed to install it by my self. Just took my time. Remember, measure twice- drill once.

If you read and follow the instructions it goes up easily. I wish I bought a bigger one. It extends and retracts smoothly. It adds some privacy and heat control. Would recommend 👌

I ordered 2 of these awnings. 90% of the required screws and the swing strap catch were kissing from both boxes. They are of acceptable quality otherwise but would suggest you custom order from carefree. Get exactly what you want for a bit more money.

Don't go by the chart Carefree shows. I ordered according to the chart size and the awning material was not the width they show... the width they are showing is total width with arms. So I ordered a 54" for 48" window and the vinyl cover barely covers the window edges. I didn't catch this until after pilot drilling my RV so too late! As far as product itself, it is good. If using a higher window.... you may want to purchase a longer strap to pull it down or get a telescope hook to grab it.
